5 Day Mail Delivery-7 Day Parcel Delivery

One shouldn't assume another's retirement because you don't receive volume. Plenty of large city suburbs receive high volume. My rt vf is over 7. Some of us are still buried in mail and 5 days would be abysmal. Yes, smaller towns and higher mile routes do receive less on average. My Monday average now is 12 trays DPS, 12 foot of cr flats, 6-7 tubs fsm 100 and a couple of hampers of mail. And a coverage or two 2-3 Mondays a month. Again, not everyone is blessed with low volume.

If they wanted to save costs here is an idea... No mail delivery on days that end in Y. The scramble to find real estate to create larger offices for free POBs and longer operational hours so customers have access should save them a Titanic load of dollars.

The writing has been on the wall for a few years now based on declining letter, flat volumes and the increase of packages. In my office for the past 3 years they are counting 1 city route volume per week. Their daily recorded volume fluctuates every time they go through this process since it's totally random on any given counted day. They are not counted on the same day every time. After each year of this, their scheduled depart time changes. Those carriers use this info to submit 96's when they can't meet assigned/return to office time.

You must be retired! Heavy mail days are few and far between now! A 5 day mail week would do the post office good! And it would cut down on a lot of misdelivered mail by subs, and thing being sent through CFS unnecessarily! If Congress could look and I mean really look and understand the post office they would change a few things! We would be on a 5 day system, they would put a stop to sending us back out for priority, and they would cut about half of those unneeded supervisors out of every office! When Trump calls and ask me that's what I'm telling him, but until he calls I'm just going to tell yal! ?
Couldnt have said it any better! Bingo!

I watched her testimony, I thought she did a convincing job to push legislation. Now, what legislation gets done is another matter.
I heard Congress continually talk good about the workforce and service and pmg cover her ars for poor decisions... Maybe it was the rose colored glasses...

OK, we loose a mail day down to 5 days a week.

We are no longer dependent on subs one day a week.

Who covers when you want to take one of your 26 days a year off or get sick?
Did you listen to the hearing? Congress is totally against 5 day.

Retired!? God I wish. I can’t imagine delivering 5 days. It will be hell...I made sure to get my numbers today (route 13). In case you can’t read 173 scans on just a regular Monday. During Christmas time it’s around 300.. Going to a 5 day would be miserable for us big girl routes.

okay let me apologize, for say that because yal are rite, my route is not bad at all anymore! Amazon has started delivering their own packages off of our routes in our office! I'm sorry I should not have been so brass! Amazon was kicking my butt every day 173 packages everyday just like you! For real I'm sorry! But I promise when Amazon took their packages, and I could just deliver the mail and the priority packages that come through, now I can handle that! Sorry I offended y'all! ?

It’s ok, it’s just frustrating because I have a lot of volume and I don’t get paid for it!! I’m only a 42K it’s rather crap for the amount of work it takes. I don’t see us loosing amazon anytime soon. we have no city routes and are somewhat rural.. ?
