What does this new contract mean for RCA's?

What does this new contract mean for RCA's?

I'm a May 2018 hire. Anything specific for me?

What about rules for Amazon sunday? I'm still being forced to carry City and Highway Contract packages.

Excuse my ignorance here. No Sunday delivery for my office. ….Why are you delivering AZON packages on Sunday for HC? They are a contract bid route. If Azon Sunday drops are new to HC. All they have to do is file for reword of their contract with extra payments for this task. Their bid for the route and their coverage is cheaper than PO pay rate. That is why they still exist. They are cheaper to run. All I know is when an RCA has to cover an HC run in my office they seek a higher Pay RCA first

As to City delivery... I think you are crossing crafts by providing this service. Shouldn't they use CCA'S for their territory for Sunday delivery?

Thats exactly my point. When I complained about having to deliver City and Hwy Contract Amazon sunday packages I was told that since Amazon sunday was not around for the old contract there is nothing I can do about it since I am getting paid hourly for delivering.

But the question stands.....why am I delivering packages for City and HC?

And to make matters worse, on mondays some city carriers bitch about why something wasn't delivered or why it was delivered "here" instead of "there". Like we know ANYTHING about their customers.

HC should come in and deliver theirs if they want to. If not, it should go out on monday. But who really wants to work on a sunday. I sure don't.

Sorry, but Amazon doesn’t care about “Customer knowledge”. Their employees don’t have knowledge of any customers. Sundays are for JUST DELIVERY of Amazons. Nothing in our contract or Sunday rules restrict “Territory”. There are no HC, City, or Rural routes on Sundays. They are all Amazon routes.
Sunday is the only delivery that goes to ANY address regardless of whether or not they are a home delivery or PO Box. Vacation Holds don’t matter, just deliver it. That person moved? Doesn’t matter, just deliver it.
It is what it is.

Silly me. I just assumed that’s what we did on Sunday....deliver that package no matter where or what! The only complaints come when a package was not delivered and that’s only because a business was closed! To be honest, I’ve never heard anyone complain about my Sunday deliveries but that’s probably because it’s not my office!! I do Amazon for another PO since mine no longer does Amazon. Which is amazing btw!! I highly recommended it ?

Nothing in the contract regarding Amazon?

That is so true! I had a little boy run up to me to tell me a family had moved and there I was delivering them a package. I said sorry kid, I’ve gotta deliver this package where it says to! It really makes USPS look bad imo.

It's on the customer IMO. I mean, with Amazon, the customer chooses delivery address. Amazon even reminds them of the particulars when it ships and arrives. They even have the ability to redirect with Amazon or us if caught in time.

Other than access to better health insurance, the contract does little for rcas. They are still sol and there is no new incentive to entice people to apply . Lack of rcas in high cost of living areas will continue to be a huge issue

I don't under stand what this health insurance stuff is about. RCA's are already eligible for health insurance on day one.

Actually... I think taking steps toward correcting the Table 2 situation is really a HUGE benefit (longer term) for RCAs... for any RCAs that make it to being a Regular, this could mean 10's or even 100's of THOUSANDS of $$$ dollars difference in their career earnings... still the details are TBD... just sayin'...

I'm confused about the health insurance too. Will RCA's now be eligible for the same insurance as regs?

Yeah hopefully they space it out and it doesn't effect carriers as it has many of us. Step 7 now so already around 42k lost.... If it's on the final two steps then everyone gets hit with around 78k until you start getting the big jumps... of course that's a lot more if you invest.

The PO doesn’t pay anything towards insurance until an RCA has 1 year of service. This gives RCAs insurance coverage with assist $$$ from day 1 instead of having to wait. I’ve had 2 newbies ask me about this very subject recently & to tell them that they’ll have to foot the whole bill for 1 year really sucks.

Not true- I'm an RCA and have insurance..cost's me $60 per pay period, PO pays the rest. I haven't hit 1 year of service yet. (the insurance isn't great, and to add my wife and kids would be way too expensive)

Funny... the Info I found on it says otherwise. Lucky you. This will allow family to be added on immediately at RCA cost of 35% until 1 year when it drops to 25%.

Seems that the PO will pay more for Premiums of Rural Carriers (73% to 72%) than for 1+ year RCAs (75%) ?.

I figured that you would have the numbers crunched. Tried to talk about some of this to few T2 regulars the day after it came out, they were oblivous...contact?, Table 2?, it doesn't register.

Ok so i'll just do some math. Gonna base it all of a 48k cuz it's easier to see.. this is just to get the difference obviously no one should have a 48k
I probably messed up in there somewhere!

shall i finish it or cry myself to sleep.. 63k in my 7 years so farpaydifference.png
