Ok.....just breathe......so I have 2 routes in my string. Thursday is one of them.

i checked the schedule this morning.....all is well. I checked it when I got finished working and I was taken off of my day and the regular carrier wa s on it to work on her day off.

i found out the reason I was taken off.......apparently it is because I took too long to get back to the office on Saturday and today (Wednesday). I start at 7am......got through at 6pm. Why do long you ask? Well let me tell you.....

Saturday the acting supervisor called me and woke me up begging me to come in and help throw packages because several clerks called out and the one left was about to walk......so of course I go in and throw packages. I got a 2 hour late start AND I had to take part of another route after my 9 hour route. So that is with I was late saturday.

Today.....they didn't ask me to throw parcels.....I think they just expected it......so I didn't do it. We got our parcels at 10am. Plus circulars.......got back at 6pm.

i had a source confirm that my being late was exactly why they removed me from my day.

Now the supervisor that pulled this littering is back peddling and telling me to come in to work.

i have before and after photos of the schedule with me on it....and off of it.

I am so tired of these games.....they pull this carp with RCA's too.

HELP.......so frustrated. Tell me whatnot should or could do. Keep in mind that my union rep will NOT call back at all. In fact the only calls she takes are from supervisors. She does not support the rural craft.

Wsogal -- time to call in your Assistant District Representative and let the ADR do the "heavy lifting" in dealing with manglement.

-- While in touch with the ADR, discuss "crossing craft work"!

-- Just might be able to file a grievance for being scheduled in excess of 12 hours in one work day.

-- 2 hours of throwing parcels, a 9 hour route, ( lunch? ) and an unknown ( to us ) number of hours on another route.

-- A recent Step 4 seems to limit PTF's to 40 hours of work during the week. Would working the day you were pulled of put you ovee 40 hours?

" Keep in mind that my union rep will NOT call back at all. In fact the only calls she takes are from supervisors. She does not support the rural craft."

-- If it is the ADR who is not performing up to your expectations, tell the District Representative. If no help from the DR, Susan Knapp, the Director of Steward Operations would love to know. Her address has been posted on another thread.

-- Please have plenty of documentation - names, dates, not following through on what ever, etc.

No. Only my 2nd day working so not over 40. No lunch breaks. They say to take one but then it would result in a meetin g where I would be sat down with 3 supervisors towering over me asking me why I was late. The other part of another route was 1.5 hours and the parcel throwing was added to the time on that route for a 3.5 hour green card time.

the last few weeks have had me between 45 and 60 hours a week.

i am ready to nip this in the bud. I have seen these people take carriers off the schedule all week because they called in sick one day.

One day they are nice as pie.....the next stabbing joining the back.

We used to have a manager that would change the schedule unbeknowst to RCAs. Looking at the schedule on a Saturday, they would see they'd be off until Thursday. Well, under the cover of night, the manager on Monday would write in that RCA to work Tuesday. Tuesday would come around and the manager would be accusing the RCA of a no-call no-show. The RCAs were expected to check the schedule even if that meant to drive a half an hour to the post office each day (even their days off).

This sort of behavior was grieved at the local level and a step 1 settlement was agreed to.

I take pictures of everything. Schedule, green card, leave slips.....saved my butt a few times.

so last night supervisor sends me a text saying come in to work tomorrow.....I go in.......regular was on route and they had nothing for me to do.....so I go home. 2 hours on green card time.....but what was the point in even telling me to come in?

"where I would be sat down with 3 supervisors towering over me asking me why I was late." I would file on that alone for Bullying/intimidation.

665.24 Violent and/or Threatening Behavior

The Postal Service is committed to the principle that all employees have a basic right to a safe and humane working environment. In order to ensure this right, it is the unequivocal policy of the Postal Service that there must be no tolerance of violence or threats of violence by anyone at any level of the Postal Service. Similarly, there must be no tolerance of harassment, intimidation, threats, or bullying by anyone at any level. Violation of this policy may result in disciplinary action, including removal from the Postal Service.

When did it take more than 1 to question you while you have another in tow to hold a PDI?.... Good cop bad cop thing?

Any idea where I can locate that agreement?

If the Carrier is working their Relief Day while you are not running a Rural Route, you can GRIEVE IT! You have the right to the route UNLESS the assigned Primary Sub needed off & swapped with the Regular. The Regular would only working as a swap, not OT.

Well it's a step 1 and was locally agreed upon between management at the time and the local steward. It's not citable. I do have a copy and could type out the important parts if you are looking to structure something similar in your district/office.
Thank you. If I need that I will look you up. Don't go to that much trouble at this point.

There was a time when I kept my personal "grievance packet" handy in my locker.

Each packet contained:
---Copy of my latest form 50
---Grivance form with personal and office info filled in
---Blank paper for writing carrier report of incident
---Signed release for union, only needed date added.

So here is another question. When a carrier "disobeyed" their supervisor it is insubordination. What is it called when the supervisor is intentionally out to damage a carrier? I.e. Taking them off schedule so as to harm them financially. Or this is a good one.....denying leave because "there are not enough leave replacements" and yet find out that you are scheduled off on the day you requested leave. It was for a doctor's appointment.

then come to find out that the same supervisor has admitted to another supervisor that they could have given the requested leave but they are just screwing with me.

also find out that supervisor admitted to another supervisor that they too k me off schedule out of spite. (They didn't like my return time being 6pm even though I had 1.5 routes to run.)

Since this is not insubordination and it IS a superior......is it just called plain fun? Or a day to screw with a carrier in the name of boredom? I have had enough and am starting to get angry.

it is at the point (there was much more before the above) where I just drive by the post office and my stomach sinks. Could just puke going by......and I love what I do.

Don't really know if there is an answer for me.....or maybe I am just venting my frustration.....but thanks for being the best sounding board out there for them postal worker.
