Another Holiday - This time Labor Day ;) - RCAs across the Nation delivered Amazon for straight time and no added Holiday Pay. Many worked Sunday and Saturday as well [Having no weekend Off] and possibly Monday thru Friday as well as this time is popular for Regular Carriers to Take Vacation [as mine did].

Interestingly enough, at the Amazon Hub I worked at the Sup had an RCA go to every collection box today (Labor day Monday), including city route boxes because District management wanted all mail collected, and all blue boxes scanned. Is this normal procedure? I have no clue. However, I find it compelling that of all people tasked with collection of mail on a POSTAL HOLIDAY... it was an RCA.

Stay tuned for the next Amazon Holiday Update!

Running Collections is Normal now for Holidays only. Our CCAs handled this today.

I'll be letting the NLCA Union Steward know that an RCA did City Craft work. All 3 of the normal CCAs were scheduled OFF this Monday, likely due to the unofficial "6 day" rule.

Edit: Just wanted to add, this^ would not hurt the RCA. The RCA here is tasked with closing on Amazon days and has to stay in office until everyone is back and done anyway - Management has simply gone further to use and abuse by having them hit the collection boxes instead of just waiting. I don't have much faith that the NRLCA will do anything about it, but maybe the NLCA would be interested that craft work is being completed on non-craft days (this time collection boxes instead of USPS products being delivered).

The reality is that RCA's are at the very bottom of the ladder among mail delivery employees. If there is any required extra work or shit details that need to be done you better believe a RCA will be required to do it.

Some might say... even lower than whale :poop: on the ocean floor...?

you mean like..when the reg carrier is late for the dispatch truck, the pm has to take the mail..but on saturdays when rcas are working...if the carrier misses the truck, the rca gets to take the mail, causing said rca to put in a 15 hour day?

RCA should grieve for management pay when acting in capacity of a manager/postmaster...That should cause a hissy fit or two...

As a regular, I would love to get paid 4 extra hours plus 150 miles EMA.

Those trips as an RCA helped me buy some Christmas presents. Look for the silver. ;)

This is so true, thank you......

I'm sure there are Regs that would like to get the extra $$$ cash for the easy $$$ money of just driving, but the USPS doesn't allow us.... probably a $$$ money decision, based upon the higher costs... notice they usually don't send the clerks either...
