Rca bumping other rcas

We have a matrix in our office with several routes without a sub in any position on them still. The senior rca gets moved to her primary off a route day yesterday for Thursday well then the next senior goes on the route she was on. Well today someone else calls in for tomorrow and then the next one up is put on that route. Is the one above them able to bump until they get the route they want every time/ when this happens?

Reason I’m asking is sometimes it is getting to the point they are bumping people to the routes that can’t do them at all and we get screwed

You should check the " order of consideration" on the reference page. I believe it still denotes that senior person not currently assigned is next in line without a matrix position. It's a little tricky on the seniority without seeing better information.

-- Try politely requesting manglement "update" the Matrix in order to fill in the blanks.

-- From "Matrix Quick Reference Checklist Q&A"

- Q -- Is there a time frame for redoing the Matrix?

- A -- No. When circumstances create a large number of blanks on the matrix due to conversions, auxiliary route assignments, etc., management SHOULD review the list to determine if some movement of qualified leave replacements or cross training is needed. ( same working in Step 4 ( M-84 ))

-- If manglement flat out refuses, why not invite your Assistant District Representative to the office to look at the blank spaces on the Matrix?

Thanks. I don’t know if I didn’t explain well or it just doesn’t happen anywhere else that the people above me will already be on the schedule on a route someone else will call in so they want to be moved to that route if it is easier. We always have huge holes in the matrix because they can’t keep subs at this office

When this started happening in our office, senior sub took every available day that came up. I blew my top and made them follow the matrix actually made them create a matrix. and this has worked ever since. you have your primary and two other routes you can carry. After that it goes to whomever is the most senior carrier that is available...….....
