Aux Leave Chart

Hi, I have a question about AUX leave. According to Aux carrier leave chart in knowledgebase Aux carrier leave chart, my pay statement shows, 11 50 ( there is a line between 11 and 50 ), it means that I have 11 days (if 1 day is 8 hours, then 88 hours) and 4 hours of leave?

I held down an AUX route for awhile and the time I accrued was based on the hours for the AUX route...it was a 4 hour evaluated route, so the AL "days" were 4 hour days, not 8. At least that's how it was explained to me. I still don't understand their ridiculous pay stubs.

I never used AL while on the aux route so didn't remember specifics.... but yes that rings a bell.

So 11.5 hours is what she's got more than likely...oi.

So, someone who has a 6 day 4.00 hr eval aux and completes it every day in 3 hrs is not even getting 1 hrs of annual per week.

They actually do it always in less than 2.5 hours per day...they think the route is close to getting full time....lol

Leave on an aux route is shown in days on your pay stub. One day in postal land equals 8 hours. When you use that leave, you use it in hours depending on how big your aux route is. If your route is 4 hours per day for instance, you would use up 0.5 of one day when you take annual leave. Your pay stub is showing 11 days and 4 hours. When you earn 4 more hours, it will show up as 12. Once you go regular, you take days off in units of 1 day instead of in hour increments. They do this because aux routes are under 8 hours long per day. Taking leave in 1-day increments would not be fair if your aux route is evaluated at 2 or 3 hours a day.

Thank you!!!! I thought so!!! Everybody told me a different thing and got me confused. Most people including management told me it's shown in hours, so I thought myself, my math may be way too off & I must be too crazy.....

no, you can't use half-days as a regular, BUT as a regular at certain steps you are earning 1/2 or 3/4 of a day per pay period. So depending on when you become regular, you probably WILL have odd time hanging.

Um no.

Regulars earn 4, 6 or 8 hours annual per pay period.

Or 13, 20 or 26 days a year.

If an RCA in leave earning status, use your odd hours up until a nice round number to transfer with you.

works in an ideal world but depending on when you become Regular could still leave with a partial day hanging around. It also happens when HR determines we need a “catchup” Pay Period to even out Pay Period 1 to January.

Check. I've never noticed that...my odd that just hangs around is from my aux days and never changes. (nor can I get rid of it!)
