Forced to travel to other stations

My situation: Aux route 6-0

My post office was about to se d me to another station because they needed help. I was like, you cant force me. (Forgot about the wording in the new contract that states rcas can be force to travel to other stations)

Fortunately they called another carrier at my office who wasnt scheduled to go work it. Thus allowing me to go home.

Question: With me being on the aux route 6 days a week, are they still allowed via contract to send me to other stations when i am done with my route?

P-S-E-N et al -- "My situation: Aux route 6-0. My post office was about to send me to another station because they needed help. "

-- You should have Article 30.2.G.5. readily available at your case. Then you could point to it and tell manglement:

- "Fine, I'll go to the other other office AFTER completion of my assigned auxiliary route as per the 2015-2018 contract."

-- Wording in the 2018-2021 contract may have changed slightly, but as no one has a print edition, just go with the 2015-2018 contract.

"Question: With me being on the aux route 6 days a week, are they still allowed via contract to send me to other stations when i am done with my route? "

-- Since manglement MUST NOT schedule a leave replacement to serve more than 12 hours of evaluated work in a single work day ( Step 4 ( R-96 )), that would depend greatly on the evaluation of the AUX and the amount of work at the other station.

- If sent, be thorough and meticulous, and don't forget your lunch break(s).

I think they did the correct thing as to calling the other available RCA if the assistance needed was more than 2 hours.

Our 6 day AUX runner is also being paid EMA to travel to other offices under our umbrella. I do not know if this correct policy or what the policy is to travel to another office not under your umbrella.

Aux carrier rules were a foggy doggy when I was one before this APO/RMPO thing. Have not kept up to date except on how I can gain hrs from it. RRECS looks like another chance if I take a hit.

page 11 for travel pay, ditto @btdtret everything else:

The union selling RCA's down the river seems to be par for the course. Useless. I cannot understand subs paying dues to join a union that does nothing for them. Actually less than nothing. I'd refuse outright.

Its not all bad news. A bunch of RCAs in Seattle were forced to work as valets at the Bezos estate one night after work. They cleaned up on tips and leftover hor devours, and got paid mileage from their station.

The union did not "sell RCA's down the river" Mgmt. has always had the right to order RCA's to work in other offices. When they actually started doing it the NRLCA grieved it and lost. (2017) What the NRLCA did do was make it possible for regulars not on the RDWL to have a small chance of not being forced in on their relief day. More important, the NRLCA codified the rules for paying mileage to RCA's when forced to work other offices.
Anybody that has read posts here knows I'm no fan of the NRLCA (national) but in this case it was a win -win, for the regulars and for the RCA's.
(the only negative was that more Mgmt. now knows that they can force RCA's to work other offices)
