Just had one put in 2 weeks notice.
Another one has been gone since covid for military leave and wont be back til sometime next year they project.
So its down to 2 and im the hold down on the aux route.
I will be finally filing a grievance to work my route 6 days a week instead of being scheduled to do others routes. There is no incentive to be doing other routes just to help the office out. No thank you. Pay me more if you are going to have me do all that nonsense.
Our office is huge and gets a mega ton of Amazon. Hope our regulars are ready to have some fun lmao

-- At least you will earn leave while working the 6th day on your AUX.

-- An "incentive" could be more $.

-- However, thanks to the 2010-2015 contract, AFTER COMPLETING the AUX, you can be utilized on any other AUX or serve as a leave replacement or provide auxiliary assistance on any regular route. Make a copy of any green card(s) -- just in case.

Ah ! Down to one on seven. Now two (RCA's) on hold down. One currently at one year and three months, the other as of Thursday past. No way that that carrier will be available 'till 2021 ! Three K's, three J's, and an H. Two routes require POV. Amazon hub demands all three RCA's plus a Reg - and generally requires split ups as it is. FYI -- 'Labor Day' is NOT a day off for subs ! Due to vaca arrangements August to mid September the remaining 'loose' sub is assured seven day work week. As are the hold down subs. There is not a spare sub for fifty miles ! The howls of the Regs not getting their K's or J's has already begun !
The 'contract' demand that such days be on the Saturday ! Cry me a river - as a 50 plus hour a week sub - my pay is half the eldest Reg in my office - no bene's ! All because the Saturday off day was sacrosanct a contract or three back !!!
One (healthy !) Reg has put in papers for the end of September !
PM was forced to remove golf clubs from the Beamer and run a POV yesterday. Naturally a clerk was impressed to ride shotgun. - Did I mention the group is down a clerk as well ! Due to the vagaries of uber manglement 'decision' protocols RCA OT and consecutive days is currently not a 'thing'. OT clerk time is the 'new' obsession ! As is truck movement - expect a timer clock (with air horn) at the dock soon !
New hire prospects --- NONE !----!!!! Quality laid off unemployed are currently one $K weekly paid to stay home ! A forty hour RCA take home is about $650 weekly. Do the freaking math !
Amazon is currently building facilities around Syracuse. Kodak (Rochester) has been slated to return pharmaceuticals to CNY. Despite the NYS gruberments herculean efforts to strangle such efforts - where does the PO -- with relative low wages and Byzantine promotion prospects -- do potential new hire candidates go for employment ???

Had a friend ask if taking a postal job would be a good idea, I told him if he was 23 and willing to work a lot of 6 or 7 day weeks before potentially for years before a regular slot with bennies comes available then sure, but not as a 40 year old making over 25 an hour with kids and a mortgage.

@Nyfarmer I wish the regs would open a path for ptf for you. I did that for my guy. Just yesterday he said thanks, and he just got his raise to $23xx.

With the OT, there is no limit. If you want it, grieve for it. No one is suppose to touch the mail except you guys. An office next to me, they violate a settlement daily by mngt carrying a route. They just pay the fine. Put the heat on and get paid for not doing anything!

Welcome to our world! 1 sub 6 routes and the sub is on a hold down. No vaca and no days off so far this summer for any regulars. Burn out all around and short a ptf clerk. No subs, cca or rca within 50 miles. Amazon Sundays require the 1 sub and 2-3 regs. We will collapse soon.

Being an RCA like you @PostalServiceEmployeeNewman, I have learned management will do what they want....always.

I think grievances are over rated unless there is a monetary consequence, on either side.

Ask for escalating monetary penalties as your remedy. Please talk to a union representative before filing. They'll be able to give you much better guidance with your specific concerns.

Honestly, giving $600 bucks on top of normal unemployment seems like too much $$$$.... they're talking about maybe making it an extra $200 clams instead.... they'll probably get something... and both sides are sayin' everybody is likely to get another $1200 cheeseburgers.... so, the Amazon season is likely to rage on.... js.... ?

I think lots of folks bought electronics, shoes, etc from Amazon with that bump. Bezos bought Leichtenstein, and moved all the residents to Bosnia.
