No mention of the massive overpayments to both retirement funds. No mention that nobody else in America have this obligation, either private companies or public agencies.

I just read the title, and from that alone I have deduced that the Dems will fight it tooth and nail... it'll never happen... with that said, now I'll go read the article...

Basically...Destroy unions....cut services to rural areas.....push for outsiders to do all work (read that privatize)...Gut the po so later they can raid all the rest of the money.... Screw the little customers and kiss the butts of big guys....Increase pay for the underpaid senior management(so they can get smarter people in charge) ha ha..Basically follow ups and fedez business model..make $ where you can, skim the top, and screw the un and less profitable... Love the Sec of the Treasury is the big shot on the panel... Treasury has unfunded mandates all over the place, oh wait....It's been privatized already..

They can privatize it, but they cant stop the workers from voting in the teamsters to represent clerks, and carriers in 1 union, not 3 seperate ones.

i think many are sick of this job, the evaluation, the narcissism of all levels of management. I welcome reform.

Divide an conquer... that's why we have so many separate unions... that's why they implemented the multi-tiered pay systems, RCAs -vs- Regs, etc., etc... the more divisions we have the weaker we are, so the USPS promotes these divides at every opportunity... that's why we are so easily conquered... just sayin'... bring on the Teamsters and ONE (real) Union... We can ALL be in 1 happy family, mail handlers, truck drivers, maintenance, pilots, snowmobile carriers, the guy that rides a mule in the grand canyon?

Obviously, it will take a LONG time to see any change, so I'm not getting all nervous or excited.

I hope that someone will look at it in very basic terms: how are the people that put the mail in the box getting it done, and what will streamline it? Maybe it will register that stacks of large car ads, newsletters, etc that carriers have to handle multiple times are impeding other operations. If they want that stuff in mailboxes, find a way to get it thru with DPS. "If it fits, it ships" type deal. Then, utilize any "boxholder" dps materials as address dividers. As in, that car ad is the last piece of mail for each box.
I've noticed that folks will examine a small ad, or postcard to some degree, yet toss aside those large, clumsy ads without a glance.

I'm sure, though, it will be more union/benefits focused, where the USPS is bleeding so badly. Lots of comparing with UPS, no doubt.

Teamsters not so great. They just caved into the 2-tier system over at ups! By the way, ups part-timers

still only make @ $13 an hour. Be careful what u wish for, that's Hoffa we are talking about

It will never happen. Congress won't give up a 5-6 billion dollar cash cow ever, if Amazon buys us there will be no taxes paid because Amazon doesn't pay taxes . Congress needs $ and the USPS is a yearly source.

We've had 2-tier pay since 2012... UPS gets their healthcare paid at 100%... we could go on and on... if you like NRLCA, well, I say off your rose-colored glasses... what kind of benefits do our "part-timers" get... UPS moves their peeps up the pay scales MUCH quicker than the NRLCA... I know of 20+ year RCAs...

So do you *really* believe we'd be better off with the NRLCA than Teamsters???

I have been saying this for the last 6-7 years now, and no one believes me. The higher ups have been talking about riffing carriers for sometime now, and replacing them with contract carriers. "This was the point of the study they just did. To show how expensive we are compared to contract carriers."
After reading this it just proves my point. They have this all planned out years ago. It is just a matter of time before it happens.
I tell people this and they tell me the union will not let this happen, I tell them the union can't do squat but keep things fair as they riff people, as in riffing people with the least seniority -veterans -years -ect.
I have seen it happen with family in another government agency. Union didn't keep their jobs.
Its coming for us, but it will take a few years to do so.

So...If they want to get rid of the most expensive carriers....Start on city side first....

Hey...Don't pick on the mule skinner in the Grand Canyon...Rafted the canyon back in 2005. Pulled in at Phantom Ranch for a shower (we were ripe) and sent a postcard to back home... They got it..

Don't get me wrong, i am totally fed up and disgusted with the NRLCA. Bunch of wimps. I would much rather be represented by the NALC. The teamster leadership is corrupt. UPS teamster members voted down the contract offered them by ups but it was rammed down their throat by union leadership in spite of the vote. The NRLCA is not corrupt imho, just totally incompetent.

I don't trust the USPS to pay me correctly, why should anyone else?
