Parcel Assistance

I have a good friend who attends the local green card fairs at citizenship office. She does pretty well getting interest from the Islanders and some African Nationals to work for us. She said they seem to accept our "fluid, not rigid" working conditions better than some other cultures due to their own experiences with the Chaos Of daily life at home. They are more go with the flow and expect things to pop up a day/skew a work day.
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

And, with the blast of cold and snow many got today... I'm thinking that I made the right move taking off today....(y)

When the going gets tough, The tough get going, Bravo is the toughest!

In basic training we were constantly chanting this as part of our indoctrination. We were obviously B Company.

Since safety depends on you, suggest that peeps invest $15 in gett8ng a neon vest to be seen.
They are lightweight...buy a huge one so you can easily slip it over your coats. When I worked, I bought mine at Dunham’s
Sporting goods. Good investment, be seen!
I got a great one made for cross country runners...alitlle pricey but well made...actually runs on a battery

yep - if you can handle your job, you'll work alone. i've seen a regular case mail, and not have to deliver, on thursday and friday, during the ot period
Nothing to do with "handling" the job...its called managing hours...js
Probably bc the" regular" worked enough hours m - wed/ thur to be projected into ot on thur and frid...December seems to be the only time managers try to manage hours...

Yes, exactly... I was reading earlier, where @RDruckus was explaining that avoiding long days during the early part of the guarantee year, actually increases your OT rate during the Christmas OT period....

So, all this whiny crying, bleeding heart nonsense is for the birds imo.... we're talking 2080/2240, OT, etc., etc.... pure hardcore business sense here.... Bravo to all smart enuf to see this. . Just sayin'...(y)

Our Co ditty at Benning in '84 was no where near as PC as yours. Bet you had some alternative verses out of ear shot of the Headshed.

uselesshasbeen et al -- "When the going gets tough, The tough get going.."

-- I was always partial to: When the going gets tough, the tough go shopping!

So what if you don't get done? Do the slow pokes get help while others don't?
I always think... if they'd split the route and give me help like they do for my sub, then hail, I'd really never need to take off.... whatever happened to the idea that subs are expected to accomplish what the Reg would if they were working.... doesn't it say that in the PO-603???

I would rather have a real person help with my parcels but the hand trucks really help. Especially with the 50 pound dog food. And those postal (free)boxes. Some customers order 4 or five of them and they are not lite!!!! Our subs can only help us if the manager lets them. In our office one carrier always gets help at Christmas, they argue with her, but she always leaves more for the subs to carry than she takes ??

Are there rules to be followed when a supervisor calls an RCA for parcel help? Is he to call the senior RCA first? Or can he call his favorite RCA? I know the matrix is for working a regulars route but is it used for parcel help?
