Did you know that our union is telling us that we have to fill out a new 3971 every pay period?.. iow,3971s are only good for 2 weeks?
Since when?... anyone else have information in this?.. 35 years I've NEVER heard of this

No clue what a 3971 is, but I can bet alot, that is not a dues withholding form.

a 3971 is a request for/notification of leave.

why would you have to fill out a new one every 2 weeks?

like a vowel, once approved (by either signature or lack thereof and thus approved anyway in 3 days), it's yours to keep.

False. A 3971 can be submitted for any time off within 60 days of request-date. Any further out than 60 days needs to be a life event with documentation. This is per contract.
Whoever is telling you this is lying.
