6 & 0 or 5 & 1 ? What is best for aux route carrier in sub short office

Seems to me after reading about auxiliary carrier in a sub short office it really doesn't matter. Looks like they can put you on any route they want for coverage....

Reality of my matter is the more things change the more they stay the same.
Right now the current aux carrier has been working 3 Saturdays a month on their "old" primary route and claims to be 6 & 0.
So after musical chairs next month I'm afraid I'll be doing the same.
Has anyone won a grievance on this situation? Contract wording on this reads like sterio instructions.

i took the 5+1. if i had to do it over again, id take the 6.leave earning for one. cant find subs anyway, so might as well work a half saturday instead of a full one. plus id know one less route that they could schedule me for.

-- Best to remember that you only earn leave while working on the AUX.

-- Prior to the 2015-2018 contract, an AUX carrier could only be used in a few specific situations such as noted in Step 4 ( R-4 ):

- Non-craft specific duties such as Express Mail or collections.
- AUX assistance on the primary route, IF the leave replacement is NOT serving the AUX 6 days a week.
- There are no other leave replacements available to be scheduled or called in.

-- But thanks to the additional wording of Article 30.2.G.5., an AUX carrier can be assigned to serve just about anywhere in the office.

-- The important thing is that it is AFTER completion of the assigned 6/0 AUX route or AFTER serving the primary route assignment in the case of a 5/1 AUX carrier.

"Right now the current aux carrier has been working 3 Saturdays a month on their "old" primary route and claims to be 6 & 0. Has anyone won a grievance on this situation?"

-- Is the AUX carrier only running the old primary route on Saturday? Or the AUX, then the old primary?

-- Sticky situation as craft members are not supposed to grieve another craft member. So who else could grieve? Certainly not manglement.

-- If an Assistant District Representative should "happen" to visit the office and look over the work schedules and find a 6/0 AUX carrier is only running an old primary route, might raise some interesting questions for manglement to answer.

If an Aux RCA is on a 6-day, that Auxiliary is their ONLY responsibility. If they are needed elsewhere, then that comes AFTER their Auxiliary.
If a Steward is aware, they can file a grievance since it is a contract violation to be forced to switch routes. If another sub is running the Auxiliary to allow the Aux sub to run a full-size route, the other sub would have a grievance since they had the right to the Regular Route hours & if more than one time, the Stew can file a class-action.

The final line..."There are no other leave replacements available to be scheduled or called in. "
In this case it would be contractual to have aux rca cover any route? What if subs are available but do not know said route?

-- In that case the sub will get ACTUAL TIME for the first day of running the route. As far as the second day, manglement will consider the sub "trained."

-- And the subs should be pinging on manglement to learn other routes -- it benefits all concerned.

In ANY case, the Aux RCA is to run their Auxiliary & assist any route that may need it if mgmt allows. There is NO case where the Aux RCA is removed from their route to run another one instead.

I did 5n1 for about six months. I was still tossed like a wet noodle. When I finally committed to the aux for the six days I didn't get bounced around as much. It was kinda weird, but I guess they looked at me as a real route. It became an H about five months into:)
