9 Straight Days

In the area where I work, mgt is now saying that RCA's CANNOT work 9 straight days, so that basically means RCA's are not being allowed to work Amazon Sundays for the most part.

Of course, mgt has not told RCA's why this is the new policy.

I am a regular carrier and inquiring on behalf of a few RCA's.

I can think of a few reasons, mgt might want to attempt to limit OT.  Another thing mgt is trying to give RCA's a rest/break from working so many days in a row.

One of the RCA's was told, just in a case a regular gets sick or whatever and he/she needs to cover for the reg, the Sunday Amazon work would perhaps cause the 9 day in a row situation.

Wonder how long this policy will last just like all the others, load leveling, not working after dark, have mail delivered around the same time most days, I dont have the time or space to keep listing all the BS the PO has tried and has been forgotten or they react to some other crisis and start another short lived  policy.

Is mgt allowed to limit amount of days the RCA" can work in a row ???

Another grievance.  Any RCA who is the assigned primary, ( primary ) leave replacement is guaranteed to work the evaluated hours of the route for the week, before being yanked off of it by mgt.  if you are a sub on my 42 h route you can not be taken off of it until you hit 42 hours if I am gone for the week.

A sub on a 48k right the years ago was involuntarily given two days off by mgt each week they ran vacation for regular.  Sub complained but never grieved it.  Mgt laughed all the way to the bank.  Do not be a victim.  If you stand up you are no longer a victim.  If you shu mgt bs down the first time, it usually doesn't reoccur.

I believe it's 14 days in a row that an RCA can work, then supposed to have a day off. I worked 30 days in a row during holiday season so I don't think it's a written rule but mgm't tries to give us one.

They are hiring more RCA's and Arc's too. The RCA count has doubled since I've started last year and I'm contemplating in getting a night job just to offset the potential loss of hours. It sucks not having a guaranteed schedule. At least my office has an RCA just for Amazon/Fresh, Express mail, package overload 6 days a week.

There is nothing that says 'how many days in a row' can be worked for our craft. That being said, unless you're holding down a route for the week, mgmt has the right to limit an RCAs work hours to 40. Our district has ran the "rule" that no RCAs can work 7 days in a row without a day off since November. Ours have made subs take a day off during the week to allow those subs to work Sundays, Now we have too many subs & they all want to work 'clerk work' just to get some hours.

I worked 28 in a row the year before, then we got a new PM, and she was limiting us to 50 hours. Then 60. Then 70. Then back to 50. Based on higher ups telling her what to do, or her wanting her numbers to look good. Nobody complained because we wanted some days off from time to time.

New rule from our management; they can't work you 7 days in a row per pay 'week'; so, that means you can have Amazon Sun off the first week, but then they can work you Monday- (the first Monday of the pay period until the second Friday of the pay period) -Friday of the second week; i.e. 12 days straight. But, yea for them; you didn't work 7 days in a row!!! And oh, yeah, you have to work this Sat because it's the beginning of a new pay period.  Management math.....
