Amazon Sunday

You totally took this to a place nowhere near where I was going. My main question was about Amazon Sunday having to be delivered on Sunday when the Amazon truck doesn't even deliver to our office.
This you?

I don't hate church or religion, only stating that this carrier was using going to church on Easter as her excuse for refusing to work. This woman never graces the doors of a church any other time of the year, which is her right. She only uses church as an excuse to get out of her turn to work.

And that was in response to a statement that if I hated church or religion. What I don't care for is people using God as a scapegoat to get out of their responsibilities when it's a known fact, in our office, that she chooses to not go any other time of the year. She's also declared that she's not working on Mother's Day, that does not mean I hate Mothers. This RCA is being allowed to pick and choose which Sunday's fit into her life while other RCA's are not given the same choice. I see the unfairness of it and how it causes division in the office but I don't have a dog in that hunt, that's between the RCA's and management. If I were given the choice, I would rather none of them deliver Amazon packages on Sunday so the RCA's could spend their Sunday's doing whatever they want and our routes can get the credit for those packages during the week, possibly improving our evaluations and giving the RCA's more days each month (K days) to work in our office.

My point still stands in response to this. I would count it a blessing they only want to miss once a year for the holiest day of the year when they have a right to miss all 52.

If you feel strongly talk to your union representative and file a "disparity of treatment" grievance. So far you're saying two times out of 52 chances this person doesn't work on Sunday. Not sure how far that will go but file it. Start a paper trail. My guess is it's more times. We had an RCA try this in my office and simply threatening to file was enough to get this stopped.

The bigger issue here is not unfairness between one RCA and the others. It's how unfair USPS is towards it's employees or caring about family life. When I was a sub I think Amazon was off on Easter and we were out there losing money delivering their packages at a .73 cent per package loss (on average). The correct answer is we should drop Amazon period, and no one gets paid, but that's not the issue you raised here.
