And they wonder why RCAs quit...

My sub ran my 8.2 hour evaluated route in 10 hours this past week, and now we're going thru a mail count where my low K rated route is likely to get cut to a high J rated route, so I get a $5,000 pay raise, but my sub will get 1 day, instead of 2 days a pay period on my route... so effectively cutting their pay by MORE than half, considering they'll get even less hours per day that they're already running WAY over the evaluation on...

So I guess this is what the USPS is striving for...

All the RCAs run over 40 hours a week in my office despite wishing they could stay under and get payed the route evaluation. They have to pivot 1 or more routes at least 3 days a week. Excluding the Saturday before a Monday holiday, no regular gets overtime even if they are on the overtime desired list and not even close to 2080 problems. And we still can't hire/keep RCAs. The simply fact is RCA pay hasn't adjusted for the general increase in the minimum wage over the last 5+ years and the benefits of being a regular are generally so far in the future RCAs don't consider them when deciding to stay/quit.

How can all RCAs run over 40 hours in an office? How many is all? We have a 10 route office and I get the most hours... 2 days a week plus every Sunday in a further away office. Then I probably average 1 extra day a week with regs taking time off.

-- IMHO -- it is a bit early to predict the outcome of this count.

-- You don't need to discourage RCA's any more than they are now.

-- Plugging in the "numbers" on a daily basis might even get a regular discouraged!

-- Lose an electron -- be positive!

A nerd mngr that likes to run #s told me the 1st 4 days #s almost always determine what the route will be.

Nerd manager thinks 4 out of 12 will most likely determine your outcome, doubt that.

From the way I have been treated from the get-go of this count makes it hard to be optimistic... and then looking at how they're cheating and changing procedures just to screw us during the count... something should be done about it, but, as usual nothing will be...

I've about concluded it'll be what it'll be... I'm taking notes and will dispute at the end if it turns out bad...

Morty -- "A nerd mngr that likes to run #s told me the 1st 4 days #s almost always determine what the route will be. "

-- Should have looked the manager right in the eye and say "Oh, so you already know what the mail volume will be for the remainder of count! Care to share how that is possible?"

I am a carrier who likes to play with the numbers and for me the first 4 days always have been higher than my final numbers.

5 days, 48k. Today may bump to 49k. Heavy volume.

I haven't let chance take the reigns. I've done every little down right dirty deed to squeeze every second out of this count.

You have to do every little down right dirty deed you can, as we all know, its done to us !

I have been working on projections for my route. High projection makes me overburdened, low projection should stay same, and a few places in between.
