Anyone else noticing this happening more

In last 6 months to a year, my presort has dropped off to literally nothing, BUT WHAT I HAVE NOTICED is that lot of stuff that is suppose to be bundled is cut open and tossed in tubs now. I.E. electric co-op has monthly magazine, last 3 months it has been in my tub flats and not presort like it is suppose to be.

I just don't see how my route can be dropping if my presort is getting opened and put in tub flats. It would be getting double count and would be worth more as tubbed than presort.

Perhaps the processing plant is making work for themselves.

-- Document, document, document!!! Put the number of flats in tubs on the 4240 and make a copy of the 4240 for future reference.

"just hope they keep on doing it for your MMS" as oi veh noted. Should you get bundles during the next MSS, might be grounds for a dispute or grievance.

-- My last Mail Count was in 2011. As I cased DPS, I was sure to use any flat for a "wrapper" or "taco" and kept a running log as to when certain magazines and advertisements came during the month. When several of those wrappers arrived just before and just after the mail count, the log enabled me to dispute the count by saying the wrappers did not arrive as they normally did through out the year.

-- BTW, District finally replied with a mimeograph sheet with the "materials unavailable" box checked. Yeah, right!! Of course the materials were not available as they came early or late!!

Wouldn’t you get the bounce in next mms for extra credit due to plant mistake if it is happening only in last 6 months ? My guess is also like other people here — plant people making more work for themselves. Better for us . Better loose in tub than in bundle . But you have to keep in mind it is almost literally nothing you have noticed . Do you think that extra gained in differences with “ literally nothing “ is enough for anything as far as evaluation goes ?

Our box holders we get monthly (Everybody's business & The Home Mag) have been unbundled and come in in a complete mess. Can't take em to the street anymore, they have to be cased...obv. It's very infuriating!!!

When flats come in tubs instead of bundled, be sure to check the volume run the supervisor uses every day with DPS and tub flats. Be sure your flats are being credited in the raw mail section.

Been this way for over a year here. Presort are half what they were, ironically tubs flats account for those same missing presort flats. Fine by me if they want to make work for themselves while giving us a more accurate count.

Beware! This has happened to me several times this year. For example, got wss bundles raw in tubs, and when I checked the radar report the tub flats came out to only just over 300 when the number should have been over 700 for that day.

This happened to us in our offices as well. Full coverages, WSS. The PM authorized us to scan coverage since we got no credit in tubs. We still got screwed as tub flats are far more valuable than WSS.

My last 2 furniture ads have been done like this. Crazy thing is union told me NOTHING WE CAN DO!!!! I was like another reason RRECS is a joke.

I've seen this for two years, and the union DR agrees with you, there's nothing they can do, besides the existing Step 4 that the data is corrupt and doesn't accurately reflect actual numbers at the route level.

That's where my issue lies with this whole thing.

My pay relies on others doing their job CORRECTLY. When they don't, I get screwed. Just like those furniture because I know one of those days, my flats was no where close to what it should be because they weren't all counted.

This whole RRECS is a disaster and still will be unless the union addresses these issues. Sure Step 4 are a start, but what will we get? Probably nothing because this thing is a mess and ZERO CHANCE YOU CAN GET THIS ACCURATE OF A DATA.

At least with the old count, there was some extra built in time for time for things. Sure they held mail back, but there was different things such as stamp stock time and etc where carriers got some extra time. RRECS has no extra time. I've been preaching this for years. I have a nursing home on route and once a week average (some weeks I don't go in, and others I go in 3 times a week), I go in which I have to buzz in and type the code to get out. It takes roughly a minute, but yet NOTHING ON MAPPING to do it. I can't claim misc time since I don't do it all the time. 8127 time is their best answer for a LOUSY 1 MINUTE! Another example they just stole my CBU from me last month because 1st box close and I forgot to change it, it nearly dropped me to the next hour. How is that EVEN FAIR that just because the 1st box closes it automatically WIPES OUT THE DATA FOR THAT CBU?!?!?! This whole thing is a just a giant mess that will never get cleaned up. No way of getting accurate coverage especially with CBU. I never tracked it because of working 2nd job, but I pretty much know for a fact, coverage is ridiculous low for CBU because I get quite a few boxes that will just in hot case or raw mail and we all know that isn't counted. I remember one day in particular, I have about 90ish boxes in my clusters and I had 10 boxes that had NO DPS, but had raw mail. That's 12% boost in coverage that I clearly didn't get.

I hate RRECS.

Actually, the union could argue an Article 5 violation.

ARTICLE 5

PROHIBITION OF UNILATERAL ACTION

The Employer will not take any actions affecting wages, hours
and other terms and conditions of employment as defined in
Section 8(d) of the National Labor Relations Act which violate
the terms of this Agreement or are otherwise inconsistent with
its obligations under law

Running those WSS on the AFSM is denying the carrier credit of 100% coverage which affects wages and hours.

Sadly our onion wouldn't argue that and find some other stupid little point to fight over instead of this, which is pretty clear and define...... They told nothing to do. It's just onion lack to do much or just do the minimum.

Or they will set it and say running it once or twice didn't not affect said route enough to move to next hour or they will claim well if you marked WSS, you got double credit.

They won't touch it. The standard line is there's a step 4 that data is corrupt and that covers everything that's not matching up or accurate.
