But is your first slot your first stop or last stop?do you mean bookcase?
if so, no. carousel all the way.
Its wild to me that it can be either way as our sister office is reversed to ours.
upper left is my 1st stop, lower right all the way around is my last.
i pull starting at the bottom.
3 cases total (like a coffice).

I switched mine to bookcase when we added one of those half-wings to my case. It didn't quite line up with the wing next to it, and I didn't want to be spinning around with 4-1/2 wings.
I told the sub I wanted to try it, and if we didn't like it, I would change it back. She actually adapted to it quicker than I did. We both loved it, so it stayed.
You can plant your feet and work top to bottom, one wing at a time, instead of holding your hands up high and spinning around with each row. Much more comfortable and efficient.
My problem was nobody could figure what the code in the edit book was to get them to print in bookcase form. You'd think it wouldn't matter, but that half-wing did make a difference. I ended up having to cut labels to fit because that first cell for the pink cards wouldn't be in the right spot.

care to dummy it down? instead of a b c. you filling up the 1st case? then proceed to 2nd case nxt?
Yes you have it right.
Bookcase is you work on a case at a time from top to bottom.
So example if you have Left Center Right cases.
You start at left and go from top to bottom. After you finish it, you go to center. Then right. That's bookcase.
Carousel you work the way from top row to bottom row around the case. So top L, top C, top R, all way to bottom R.
Done both. Use to carousel so much so haven't changed. I didn't mind the bookcase the couple months I worked on it.

i wanna try that but since i pull towards my dps and my 1st two rows are mostly cbu. it kinda dont work on me since i sit on a stool while pulling cased raw mail towards my dps.

I've done both, and bookcase is ok if you arent all that familiar with the rt. When you are very good, and dont have to look for it, I prefer carousel myself. Different strokes for different folks..

Team carousel here! I can see where bookcase would help someone new that likes to case every single thing... There is no code for the labels. There is 40 inches per shelf on a full wing, 20 inches on a half wing. You have to count your label spacing to equal 40” so as to not to have to cut-n-splice.
If you have CBUs, those can have the full 10” space (F) & 4 CBUs fit nicely on a shelf. If you don’t care about the full 10 (F) then you can set the CBUs at 8” (8) & get 5 to a shelf.
Personally, I do Carousel with (F) for each CBU and either 1”-3” for each Curbside depending on my knowledge of address volume & the 40” shelf length.

Bookcase, and case above the label. We all used to case below it but it just makes more sense to case above when there's a lot of mail because it gets crowded. I take my DPS to the street but I can get a lot of flats. Probably around a 2.5-3 volume factor. There's one route in our 3 stations that carousel out of about 65 routes.
