aux route 5 and 1 for now...time off

Is there anything in the contract agreement that states "an RCA has to ask the 1 regular carrier they are allowed to sub for besides the aux route if its "ok with them" if the RCA takes a day off?"

I'm the aux carrier.

This regular still thinks I am 100% their substitute no matter what. Is this true?

Is there no difference between an RCA and an RCA serving auxiliary route?

Can I change to 6 day hold down without repercussions and how do I do that?

You work for the post office, not for the carrier. You are not responsible for getting leave approved by a Regular, only by mgmt.

The difference of an RCA & an Aux RCA is that an RCA can be placed on any route when not working their primary AND an Aux RCA on a 5/1 has 2 Primaries.

As to changing to a 6/0 on Auxiliary only, I believe it only needs to be put into writing to the boss. Maybe someone can confirm this.

An employee serving the auxiliary route and serving on the assigned regular route as the primary leave replacement may subsequently elect to serve the auxiliary route six days, if mutually agreeable between the carrier and the installation head. Upon this election, Article 30.2.G.1.b. will apply.
