Aux Rt Mess!!

I'll try to keep this short. Aux route goes up for bid. RCA bids on it. Gets the Aux route. 120 days have now passed, he showed me his 4241A and it still says "Vacant"  under the name and also on the time sheet. He is still listed as the sub of record on the time sheet for his RR. His pay check is also still showing zero vaca/sick time accrued. Seems to me he was never assigned to the route.

Supervisor and or postmaster needs to submit a new form 50 for the RCA. It can be dated for the actual date. Once they start the process it will probably take a few weeks for them to get the new form 50 but once they do, they'll get annual and sick leave backdated. To verify that the form 50 has not been/or has been processed, they can login to liteblue and open their personnel folder from the OPF tile that scrolls across (where you also check your paystubs.)I also had a similar situation right before I went regular. I was worried I would not get my leave from being on a vacant route. It was fixed just a couple days before starting my route. I ended up having our postmaster's office resubmit the new form 50 3 different times.

Well, that sounds easy enough. It just seems fishy to me. Even though we are a formula office, and he SHOULD be 6 day on his Aux, he is still being utilized on other routes and someone ELSE is running his Aux. He's not being used for "Aux Help" on these other routes, he's running them and not touching his Aux.

TheMailman302 -- "Aux route goes up for bid. RCA bids on it."

-- Minor detail -- AUX routes are offered to the RCA's in the office in the order of longest serving in that office. Bidding not required.

"Gets the Aux route. 120 days have now passed, he showed me his 4241A and it still says "Vacant" under the name and also on the time sheet."

-- The AUX carrier should have been issued a new Form 90 with the new designation of 79.

"He is still listed as the sub of record on the time sheet for his RR."

-- If the AUX carrier opted to run the AUX 5 / 1, he would remain as the sub of record on the regular route. If he opted for 6 / 0 on the AUX then manglement is s-l-o-w with the paperwork.

"Seems to me he was never assigned to the route."

-- With what you have offered, that is a good possibility! Time to get your Assistant District Representative involved to speed up the proper paper work.

-- If a grievance in needed to get manglement's attention, be sure "to be made whole" is included.

-- Use "UnknownUser's" suggestion to check the carrier's e-file on liteblue.

Yeah it sounds like he was not assigned to the route if he's running other routes. Once placed on an aux he should be completing the aux first and then may be utilized on other routes as long as he's not scheduled in excess of 12 hours. It sounds like what btdtret proposed, and getting a grievance started will hopefully resolve all these issues. Management probably sees this carrier as being more efficient at running these other routes but that's not how it should be.

TheMailman302-
Mgmt technically doesn’t cut the PS-50 form but they submit a request to HR to cut a new form 50 with a reason code attached.
The 50 form states our designation code, hire date, what we are paid, etc. Reg carriers get a new 50 form when we change pay, change routes, change leave-earning, & a few other things.
