Wondering if mgmt put you in the wrong classification. Only when you move to "career status" should you move to the lower pay.

They are treating it as if you are a new hire. That's the starting wage of a new RCA. You simply changed routes on the matrix, you didn't resign then get rehired?

Go to mngt and say I disagree with my wage decrease. Please correct this today and give me the notification from payroll that this has been corrected. Put it in writing, have the pm sign it. If nothing is done TODAY, then ask for a grievance form Tommorrow.

jlr4224 -- "Auxiliary Route awarded.. pay rate went way down! [ after 90 days of being awarded an AUX ]" " Pay rate went down from 21.81 to 17.78 ! "

-- $21.81 = RCA on Table THREE - Sch 1 ( hired from 24 AUG 1991 thru 10 AUG 2012 ) -- that would be you with a JUN 2012 hire date.

-- $17.78 = RCA on Table FOUR ( hired on or after 11 AUG 2012 )

-- Apparently PM and or Eagan ( USPS pay center ) has made an error.

-- How long after completing your 90 days on the AUX did you receive the new Form 50? What is the effective date on the Form 50?

-- Politely ask for a copy of the email the PM sent. When was the PM's email sent?

-- When pay issues happen, for faster results, contact your Assistant District Representative. Show the ADR your new Form 50 and the copy of the PM's email.

-- When pay issues arise, keep reminding manglement as they will be saying something like "Don't worry, the correction will be in your next pay check." Many times it is not!

-- "Morty" has the right idea -- though getting manglement to actually sign anything is akin to pulling teeth. Just make a note on your copy, that manglement refused to sign - or even in initial. ( make a copy of anything you hand to manglement ) However - comma - unless manglement is willing to issue you an Emergency Salary ( an advance - in the form of a postal money order ( something to avoid if possible as you will have to pay back the advance which further complicates pay issues )) - you may have to wait until the next pay check to see if the correction has been made. Corrections take time as Eagan deals with about a half a million postal workers.

-- "gotstamps" is correct. Especially if you are in a sub-short office, working just about every day. When you go regular, more often than not, your total pay will decrease as there will be more deductions and your new route's evaluation may be lower than the routes you had been running. On the plus side of being a regular, you know where you will be working every day.

Eagan can move quick. Last paycheck period, I had to grieve backpay I hadn't received since october. Filed on Tue citing Donahue letter and told mngt you're going to be paying the $1k fine for refusing to act. My paycheck on Fri was full of back pay.

So with that, you see I won my 1st grievance in october, but had to grieve again because every time I asked it was...eagan is working on it. I didn't care much because I knew I'd eventually get it. But knowing what I know now, if it's not changed by your next paycheck, grieve citing the Donahue letter.

Thank you all for the tips and information! So much appreciate each of you! I received information this morning that everything has been corrected. Will watch for the back pay on the next check !

Still grieve it. Better to trust but verify than to be screwed over, file and be told your grievance is untimely and no back pay for you.

I'm not sure if that is what it is.

All I know is that I keep hearing references to the Donahue Letter, but have never seen it.

I'd like to.

-- This might be what you are seeking.

-- Although you'll have to log on at the nrcla home page.

-- Once inside, search for "compliance" and scroll down through the results to the 3rd one.

-- If you don't want that hassle, this short version is from "w2e2w2e's" ( thanx, btw ) posting ( #22 ) back in January on the "Need help filing a grievance ASAP!" thread:

Cite the Danahoe Letter (G-7) in Union guidelines:

Compliance with arbitration awards and grievance settlements Is not optional. No manager or
supervisor has the authority to Ignore or override an arbitrator’s award or a signed grievance
settlement. Steps to comply with arbitration awards and grievance settlements should be taken in
a timely manner to avoid the perception of non-compliance, and those steps should be documented.
