the pickup sheet also says near the top to scan all pieces as prepaid accepted. So it would be to my understanding if i pick up a tub/bag/bin i would need to remove all pieces to scan them. Then they are no longer in the bin and I should input the total i handled.

and don't forget (i always do) if you go to the door to pickup enter door misc. As the credit for pickup is as if they are in the mailbox.

S033 (drive) & S034 (walk) are already credited for a Carrier Pickup Event.

Only if going to a customer door for items without a scan would you use DoorMisc.

The count of packages/containers picked up by a carrier is only to give credit to the carrier for how many items that the carrier had to physically pick up. If you pick up 4 sacks of parcels (ie. 20 pkgs per sack) from a customer then the pickup # is 4. As there are no scan bars on the sacks, no packages are scanned at that point. If mgmt wants them scanned when emptied at the office, H scan them under EOS time.
If all of those packages are loose and being gathered by hand, then the pickup # is 80 but only 5 are scanned with the RRECS #O. The remaining 75 are scanned under Prepaid #H.
Some Carriers will put aside 5 & H-scan up to 94. Then go to the RRECS O & scan the other 5 noting the # of H pkgs plus the 5. if more than 99, repeat the process for the next batch but say “no” to the pickup form question as you’ve already received the credit for that paper.

The reason to place loose packages to be picked up into tubs is to lessen the number of trips to the door to complete the pickup.

The 9.55 second time standard includes counting, inspecting the postage on each parcel and loading them into the vehicle. Additionally we are supposed to scan the items at acceptance not at the office. The intent behind the sack equals one count was for letters and flats being collected in sacks so the carrier still got carrier item pickup credit

What do you scan if it is letters and flats in a sack ? You scan the same thing which is actually nothing
