clarification =)

CCA has an on call type system, and they also have a career path with 24-30 months of continuous service for putting up with the 24/7 bs.

Even to this day, there's a burning hatred that boils in me when I hear a ringtone I had as an RCA. I want to smash that phone and silence it, cause it rang every day for years.

A better policy is to contact the steward who will represent you. They will either defend you or defend management.

And the wizards of smart in the NRLCA have allowed borrowing in from any distance, whatever it takes. So rest easy, and turn off your phone when you go to bed.
What type of on call system do CCAs have?

You are not on call but you do have to be available till a certain time in the am. ( available for work) You are a sub this is how it goes , your hired to cover when needed. if you need off then put in a slip in and get it approved, then you don't have to answer your phone. Not answering you phone in the morning will get you written up, if they call you later , this would be like being on call, you don't have to answer then, you could be anywhere. I never answered my phone after 8 am, went to my other job, you could not get written up for this. And remember a text is not the same as a call,

Do you know of any official writing that states that a text does not constitute as an official form of communication to employees regarding being called into work? I need it!

Does the Postal Service pay your cell phone bill? Has the Postal Service provided you with a cell phone on which you receive these text messages? Then no a text messages on your personal cell phone isn't prove of anything.

Direct orders are to be followed. Direct orders can NOT be given over the telephone due to NOT BEING direct. They can Not be texted either for the same reason.
A schedule is to be followed as a direct order (for RCA's) due to schedules ARE to be followed as per our contract, but a call or text is an attempt for a manager to fix a catastrophe that was most likely due to a management blunder. RCA's that want to work answer the phone even when they are not scheduled, those that don't, the manager learns to schedule.

That memo thing looks like the standard "good excuse to can" deal. Kinda like a broad spectrum herbicide.

If used properly, (to can a worthless employee) I have no problem with it. It used as a hammer to pound and control like a little dictator, its BS. So much depends on quality, intelligent admin. Not something the PO is really known for.

Im sure there is no official writing because they don't update anything, and the last time they updated there probably wasn't even any cell phones ( lol) but it's just like them leaving a msg on your voice mail but they texted it......if you don't call back or text back then mgmt shouldn`t assume you got the msg.... don't worry about an official writing let mgmt find it and show you. Inform them not to text you for anything, if the want you they have to call and speak to you.
