coincidence or just plain mail count fraud?

I have a lady on my route who sells on eBay. Anytime she sells something she schedules a pick up the next day. I got none from her the whole count. Today, the day after count I get a pick up request from her to pick up 9 packages. I go to her house and pick them up and check the dates on the labels. They all range from 5/5-5/7. Just a coincidence she waited until after the count to request pick up or was someone in her ear offering a discount or something? Anyway, those 9 packages cost me an extra hour.

Hah...Don't bother being gentle...Because of count you are not getting paid to pick up her stuff

Why should he/she give a shit if she switches to UPS or Fedex? Aux4ever isn't going to get paid for picking up those packages in any case, what loss is there to Aux4ever if this person switches to a different delivery company? None.

Thursday, 2 days ago, my Lookahead showed me at the end of the route, a Priority Parcel was arrived (misdelivered) to a PO right up the road from my PO... typically I will get these the NEXT day... this one, didn't arrive at my PO until today, the day after the mail count was over... <img title="Frown" alt="Frown" src="https://www.ruralmailtalk.ruralinfo.net/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys/sf-frown.gif" />

And then in the other thread we got the USPS trying to say a carrier was cheating because they scanned a package twice to make sure they actually got the scan... I have a few regular EBAYERS. They already get some form of a discount from us anyway. There are times when they have nothing due to various reasons if they are not a business.

The few I have scavenge garage sales, thrift shops, closeout sales for items to vend. Items up for sale have a buy it now for X or bid until X date. If nobody buys it now it sits until X date. They might have gone away, been ill, ran out of items, or put the bid closure date after count without their knowing count was going on.

Most people do not understand how we are paid under the Evaluated System. If you try to explain it to the they get cross eyed after the first few sentences of what we endure through count to be paid. I doubt this customer was trying to bone you out of money.

-- Any chance that the lady did have a pick-up request for those 9 items, but in the confusion of count, manglement just happened to forget to give you the request?

-- You could put a guilt-trip on her by casually mentioned that because she didn't have any pick-up requests during the count time frame, that you will be picking up her parcels ( if any ) for free during the rest of year or until there is some type of count in the future.

How about during the count, the highest dps count I had for one day was 2374..most days ranged around 1500, usually in 3 trays...I'm used to having at least 5 trays per day...came in today (day after count) and wow---I had 14 trays for a total of 4100 pcs of dps. Oh but they don't cheat, right? Also, mail forwarded to my route for my new residents had virtually dried up..today, just one customer got like 8 magazines and all the cfs stickers were dated 3/6 and 3/7

Yep! I got 4 requests today but not even 4 for the WHOLE 2 week count! At least we are still getting paid for each until April 28!

-- What were the 14 trays of DPS like? Solidly packed? Thin or thick mail pieces?

-- 4,100 DPS pieces. Was that the absolute last EOR?

-- We used a "standard" of 421 DPS pieces per tray at my old office. Just based on that "standard", you possibly should have gotten almost 5,600 pieces in 14 DPS trays - then again depending on how the trays were packed and the thickness / thinness of the mail pieces.

-- I guess manglement at the plant just can't help themselves even when count is over.

-- You should show the CFS sticker to local manglement. No doubt they will say "Too bad they didn't show up during count!"

-- Maybe if your route needs a minute or so to reach the next classification, you could remind manglement of the late-appearing CFS tags.

Some of the trays were loose so they condensed down to 9 bulging trays. (I usually get those loose trays on a regular basis, but during the count, I had the neatest cleanest DPS all neatly packed into 3 trays).. I also had the money mailers (those envelopes with the coupons inside) which added bulk, but everything else was letters and thin ads. I asked for the end of run so that I could see just how much I was getting screwed..the whole office looked like a day after the holiday. I'll keep that in mind about the cfs magazines if I need some extra time..which I probably will as I'm less than a minute from falling to a J route. My first week was ok, but still not near the averages from my count in 2016 on the letters, flats, accountables, etc. My parcels maintained so I think that may have saved me.

That was pretty much our experience too. 4000+ DPS when the highest count total was 2995. To add insult to injury we got our Money Mailers in EMM trays (not DPS) along with Ultas, Kohls, Bed, Bath & Beyond and what was once a walk-sequenced letter run that some D-bag at the plant shuffled by running through ASFM.

Not that bad here. But, started getting the direct mail crap again. Didn't see a piece of it during the count. We had some Tuesday and today...Thursday. Don't know about Wednesday because I was off. Amazons have gone back up. Had 90ish packages here today...only hit that on the first Monday of the count.

I sell on Ebay and the date is simply when they print the label. You are not actually required to put it out and send it on the date specified.

I have a 3 day handling time set up on my store. So if I sold something on Monday night I could print the label then but not actually need to ship it until Thursday. But the label would still show Mondays date because that's when it was printed.

She also might not have sold anything. February is typically a slow month for online sales. Everyone on the Ebay forums I frequent is complaining about it.

The odd thing I noticed during mail count .....I kept getting a few pieces of a DPS'ed Direct Mailing....like from Huges Net., Dish, Insurance mailing....never seen this before. Now, you can look at your trays of DPS and see "Oh, I have a full coverage today".....in two weeks....never had a full coverage. Usually, at least 3 to 4 full coverage a week....so very odd.

Also, the raw mail almost completely dried up and the DPS was very clean.....all very odd to me. I wouldn't say anyone cheated; but it is just very odd. Anything can happen; but it does seem odd it happens during a mail count period.

It takes so much more time these days with all the GO's (get outs), before we got Amazon maybe 12 or 15 GO's a day....now that is a light day. When you deliver to a true Rural Route with very long driveways it adds a bunch of time to get out 40/50/60 times a day. Not complaining just a observation.

Did I use the word ODD to much?
