Coming Back After Resigning

Is there a fast track way to be re hired? Or do you have to go thru the hiring process and academy all over again?

I think I remember seeing that if you were separated under one year you could be rehired without starting from scratch. Your record would be retrieved from district and you could skip over many of the steps in clearance.

But! You would have to come back as an RCA and wait to make Regular again I believe!

All -- Anyone know if the USPS still does "emergency hires"?

-- One of the regulars at my first post office was hired right off the street as a regular --- a l-o-n-g time ago.

-- With shortages of RCA's, some members of manglement could be willing to get "creative" in hiring an x-USPS employee.

-- Someone must be facing little choice if willing to return to work for the USPS, if they had previously resigned.

We are listing holiday clerks at this time. You do not have to do your Orientation over but if you hire in for a different craft, you may have to do their academy. They are currently pouring over files for former employees they can onboard quickly.
