Customers on my route being given free post office boxes.

It's come to my attention that there are a number of potential customers on my route are being given free post office boxes at another local office. I am trying to find if there is anything in the contract that I can refer to. Not only are those people not entitled to that PO Box, but it's also potential wage loss for me and another carrier in our office. Not only that, the fees that are paid to rent a PO Box is what helps keep those offices going. I'm grieving it, but need help finding that information. Thank you.

How can I qualify for a free PO Box?

You may qualify for free (Group E) PO Box service if your physical / business location meets all of the following criteria:

1. The physical / business location is within the geographic delivery boundaries administered by a Post Office.
2. The physical / business location constitutes a potential letter carrier delivery point of service.
3. The United States Postal Service® chooses not to provide letter carrier delivery to the physical / business location.
4. The customer does not receive letter carrier delivery via an out-of-bounds delivery receptacle.

If you believe you meet all of these requirements, do not reserve a PO Box using the Post Office Boxes Online application. In these instances, please contact your local Post Office facility.
