Day off question/rant

I'm a RCA. Last week supervisor told me we had outside help and that I could put in a request for a 2nd day off this week, back to back with my regular 1 day off per week. Super said no regulars had requested any time off and that with my request in and approved it would block regulars from requesting a day off as my request was already approved. As I expected, I was told today that a regular is off and I won't get the 2nd day off.

So was the super giving me BS?

Does a regular get to take a day off from a RCA even if the RCA was already given the day off?

I have accepted that as a relatively new RCA I will be called in to work at a moment's notice. That was basically the job description anyway.

If you submitted a 3971 Leave Request before the Regular, you get the day off. Leave is first come, first serve regardless of rural craft position. If you did not submit that Leave slip, you have no grievance. Contact your Union Steward if you DID submit leave & was denied to allow a Regular off.
