On aux. Route 90+ days. Currently in leave earning status. Am I still able to sub for the rca I was initially hired for? 2. Am I still considered a non career employee in leave earning status or a regular(big difference in insurance premiums).

Congrats. I'm guessing you mean cover for the REG you were hired for not rca.  You can still sub for your primary and carry the AUX. It's called 5-1. It means you work the AUX but when primary is available you work that and someone else covers the AUX.

You are not regular. Even though you carry the AUX you only get AL and SL. No other benifits. You're still classified as an RCA.

There is a new thread on this site under leave replacements. The topic is RLCA health insurance. A fellow member under the name of cliif clavin put up a link for RCA health insurance.

To add to Face... you only earn leave when you work the Aux, not on any other routes. If you're in a "formula" office, you cannot do 5/1, you can only choose 6-day meaning you cannot work any other routes instead of the auxiliary. You can assist on other routes or run a different one in conjunction with the auxiliary.

Congrats on earning some leave time. I am currently a designated 72 with 5/1. If I decide to switch to straight 6, will I have to continue to help the regular I was hired for?

The reason I ask is because our PM is enabling our two regulars with constant parcel assistance. From what I found out, these regulars whine a lot and get their way. I've meet other regulars who actually do their job, and don't get assistance or even time off due to not enough help. Is there anything I can do or is there a union policy that penalizes regular carries for not making evaluation time?

Another thing to bring up is, since the mail count, the case has been changed then a month later a small portion of the route adjusted. The regular made it clear they would fix the case, it's been over 2 months now and no changes. PM did nothing about it.

And now that December is coming up, the regulars are just going to keep working slower than they currently are.

Do I have any say in this, or what can I do?

@theway.... In the new contract there is no protection for you by opting for the 6. The way I understand the jibberish management still has the rite to abuse AUX carriers and RCA'S in any way they deem fit in order to meet daily operational goals.

The parcel asssistance is a shady area. Has the parcel load gone up dramaticaly since they were counted? Not making EVAL shouldn't be a concern. Making last dispatch is more important. Eval is a baseline. Somedays you beat it other days you work over. Parcel assistance or delivery assistance should start 12/3/16. If PM is giving these REGS assistance, I hope the RCA'S providing the assistance are getting their 2hr minimum daily. It sounds like your PM is enabling these REGS to shut them up. Not much you can do.

In regards to the case change... are new labels needed? is it one you work to provide parcel assistance for? if possible change them yourself when you complete the parcel run if PM allows you to. Has the adjustment been made to the 4003 so all are being paid correctly?

Of course REGS work slower in Dec. Once we hit eval most get sent home and get an extra part of a day or entire day added to our days off.

The two regulars that get "constant parcel assistance" , are their routes overburdened?

Overburdened?

For example a route comes in at 60 hours a week standard hours during the last mail count. ( 6 days x 10 hours per day )

The most a Regular can be paid for is a 48K ( 9.6 hours per day ) 24 minutes less than that evaluation per day

If they are overburdened they are entitled to auxiliary assistance daily, to make up the difference.

In that case it wouldn't be "whining" to insist the PM honor the contract or cut the routes
