dismount distance

fellow carrier lost half his dismount credit. went from 400 to 200. Manager is saying that you only get dismount distance one way for cbus. true or false? Carrier received territory from a different route, added 4 cbus, and dismount distance was cut in half. I dont understand,

False it’s round trip to be measured with official wheel. This should have been done prior to mms before they did mapping that month. So them and management can verify proper footage is being accounted for by the system. I would recommend them getting a signature with date and All dismount locations by said management for the carriers record. Magically dismount distances do get zeroed out randomly….

No. That's not at all accurate. There are other citations but you can go to page 42 of The Guide and look at the lower left where it explains it is round trip.

From an old count guide but STILL valid ;

(2) When determining the authorized dismount
distance, the postmaster or supervisor
must measure the most direct and/or effi-
cient distance from the point of dismount
from the vehicle to the delivery point, or
points, and return to the vehicle. Record
measurements to the closest foot. Make all
entries on the basis of the number of trips
required by the carrier each day

The reason you don't understand is because you have something your supervisor doesn't, and that would be common sense.
