Earned leave pay for aux?

I can't seem to find info on how earned leave days are acquired, how many hours of work for an annual or sick day, please advise, thanks.

missbittycat --  Unfortunately searching for "auxiliary route" in the KNOWLEDGEBASE section leads to a 404 error.

--  If you have another AUX in the office, ask that carrier.

--  This is from the KNOWLEDGEBASE before the recent change:

RCA's assigned to auxiliary routes earn annual and sick leave at the rate of 1 hour for each 20 hours actually worked.

As an example:

If an auxiliary carrier worked 35 hours in a pay period, the carrier would earn 1 hour of sick and annual leave.  15 hours are held for the next pay period.

The auxiliary carrier works 33 hours the next pay period.   The hours are combined ( 15 + 33 ) and leave is given based on 48 hours.

RCA's can only earn up to 4 hours of annual and sick leave per pay period with a maximum of 13 days of annual and sick leave earned in a leave years.

Leave is taken in one hour increments, not to exceed 8 hours in a day.

Total hours ( work and leave combined ) for the week can not exceed 48 hours.

When work hours equal or exceed 40.00 in a week, no leave can be used.

The new contract allows AUX carriers to be utilized just about anywhere after competing their route.   Probably as before, you won't earn annual and sick leave for hours worked off of the AUX route.

Anyone got anything newer or better?

missbittycat -- RI said search for "aux" in the KNOWLEDGEBASE.

"wondering if my days off will go back to the day I started the aux route?"

--  ??  Leaving the AUX?

If you are an RCA covering the AUX while the regular RCA who carries the AUX is out for an extended time you will not earn leave time.

If I remember right you must work the AUX 90 days for your leave time to be reflected on your pay stub. The time earned will go back to the day you started service on the AUX. You will also get sick leave credited back to day 1 of service.

If you are the assigned RCA to the AUX all your leave time will carry over if you bid and win a full time route.

You can also earn leave if you are covering a regular route for an extended period of time( 90 days). If you bid on another aux while in leave earning status you get all your annual leave paid in one lump on your next paycheck. You keep your sick leave but you have to wait 90 days again to start earning leave.

LouSainus -- " If you bid on another aux while in leave earning status you get all your annual leave paid in one lump on your next paycheck."

--  Are you sure about that?

--  From the F-21 ( Time and Attendance handbook ), Section 581.26 -- Leave Earned.  A lump sum payment will be issued automatically for unused annual leave credited during the leave earning period if a carrier is returning to a nonleave earning position.  If the carrier returns to a leave earning position, no lump sum payment is made.  ( seems like if the carrier leaves one AUX and goes right to another AUX, there's no break in leave earning status )
