EMA Hours

Can someone please explain to me how the EMA hours is supposed to work for an Aux route? My pay stub uses the term EMA hours for working the Aux route, instead of EMA trips when I work a full route.

Specifically, this route is around 200 or so stops, roughly 20 miles, and it is evaluated at 23 hours per week.

gotstamps quoted something to me under another topic that said:

Here's the rule on Aux routes:
"Auxiliary Rural Carriers, Rural Carrier Reliefs, Rural Carrier Associates, Rural Carrier Part Time Flexibles, and Auxiliary Assistance
Employees providing auxiliary assistance or serving auxiliary routes under the provisions of Article 9, Section 2.J.5, will receive EMA of 74.0¢ cents per mile or $8.00 per hour, whichever is greater. This EMA should not exceed the amount provided in the special EMA chart for route stops and miles."

The reason I ask, is because what I am seeing on my paystub doesn't fully make sense with what I've read on here, so I am trying to wrap my head around it to make sure I am being paid properly.

The   hours of "rent" are based on route time, not evaluation.    They calculate the hours on your leaving and return time on the 4240.  In the olden times when I was an RCA they wrote the hours out to the side and had to figure out whether to pay hourly or for the trip each day.    But anyway it should be at least 20 miles X 0.74 (14.80) per day.    And at $8 per hour that would mean any time over 1.85 hours route time would mean additional pay.

I used to like being a city casual using my own vehicle.   I would get paid for about 4 hours a day for the vehicle being parked as I walked the routes.

I still can't say that I understand where they are getting the numbers from...

On my pay stub for the Aux route, it gives 7.70 as the hourly rate and next to that it says EMA hours 9 for the first week and 10 for the second week. I worked 5 days on the route both weeks. So I received $69.30 for 5 days worth of EMA the first week and $77 the 2nd week.

I am not sure where they are getting the 9 and 10 hours from, because the route is evaluated as a 23k - even if they ignore the office time and use only the evaluated time on the route itself, that is still evaluated at 2 1/2 hours per day. And even then, I'm not exactly sure where the $8 per hour is supposed to come in, because it doesn't appear that they are using it.
