Endorsement

Hey, me again.
I’m catching on, and learning my case well. One thing that I still find very confusing is endorsing letters. Does anyone have a link or picture of all the abbreviations we use?! I’m catching on to NMR, ANK and a couple others but I’m so confused on what to write on some of these letters I’m getting. If they have a forward active, and I have mail for them, do I write FWD on it ?
I need a picture and definition of all the different endorsements! Help!

Oh Thank you! Having a good attitude might be the only thing keeping me going right now! I don’t give up easy but truthfully I did want to during my OJT.
I stuck it out and feel better that I’m on my own now. I know I can figure this all out. I appreciate that. I did take a picture of my case and even drew it out with marker on a big poster board with all addresses and everything to learn it. Helped me tremendously!

Definitely a keeper! Taking initiative is a good sign!
Also...
I got permission from my bosses to take pictures of the cases. It did help, but nothing is better than running the routes for learning.
My favorite study material was a set of casing stickers. I went so far as to cut them, tape them together into strands, and lay them out like on the case. Really helped, I think.

Endorsements can be very confusing, especially since a mail piece may fall into more than one category of endorsement at the same time. (Just pick one.)

The endorsement I've seen that gives the new hires the most trouble is vacant.
If it is a first class item that says occupant, current resident, or the like and there is no mail is being delivered to that address, it is VAC (vacant.) It is first class, so it is never UBBM, what the public calls junk mail.

✉One example of this type of mailing is the notice the USPS sends to an address after a customer moves out.
If no one is living there, these go back as VAC (vacant.) If anyone is still there, they are just delivered.
I keep my vacant addresses marked at the case, and if you open that mail box, they're marked in there, too.

This is often confused with the vacant over 90 days annotation used in the edit book.
They are not the same thing. If the customer moved out yesterday and you know the address is unoccupied, the qualifying piece can go back VAC (vacant) today.
