Forced to work on holiday, just regular pay?

POOM let super know today that she was to have RCA's come in Monday to run packages. She asked for volunteers and if she didn't have enough she was going to have to mando.

I've worked on Sundays before, but never a holiday. Is pay any different working on a federal holiday or is it just our normal hourly rate same as any other day?

I’m pretty sure the only extra hourly pay we get is from overtime.

Also, waiting until the Saturday before to tell y’all you may be “forced” to work on Monday? That doesn’t sound like reasonable notice of schedule change.

--  Just regular straight pay, unless things have changed from the days when RCA's came in on Monday holidays to case DPS for as many routes that could be handled in 4 or so hours.   Even when RCA's volunteered to run parcels on Christmas Day in the latter part of the last century, straight pay.

--  When anyone goes past 6 pm -- no night time differential for rural carriers, like the other unions get.

Blah. I was afraid of that. Thank you.

I'm the aux carrier and senior sub, but thanks to this newest contract I pretty much have less rights than regular rca subs so....bohica. At least I'm used to it!

Sorry, Never any "Holiday pay" for RCAs. Even if you worked Christmas Day running Express pkgs, you still only make hourly by green card.

Thanks. Super told me today that she thought as the aux carrier, I'd now be paid holiday pay due to the new contract and if so I'd get holiday pay plus my green card pay. Since I wasn't paid for Christmas or New Year's when we were off, I'm assuming she's wrong, correct? (If not, they owe me money. lol)

Super is wrong. Only Regs get Holiday Pay.

RCA's only get OT if they go past 40. Nothing extra for having you come in early, staying late or holidays.

RCA = hourly only! No holiday pay..... No nuttin! <img title="Cry" alt="Cry" src="https://www.ruralmailtalk.ruralinfo.net/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys/sf-cry.gif" />
