Frustrated part 2

So in further analysis of my last posting concerning transferring on the Questions board which for some reason is now locked to further replies...

“If you are interested in an RCA opening at another PO, you should introduce yourself to the PM there. IF the PM of this "gaining" office agrees to accept you as an employee by transfer, then the PM of the "losing" office cannot deny your move, they can only delay it for a maximum of 30 days. You need a written acceptance letter from the "new" or gaining office, signed and dated by the PM, and you present that to your current management. If they're bitter, they can say go today! who needs you! but most will hang on to you for those 30 days because they have schedules already made up and they don't have sufficient help.

Good luck! Life is too short to stay miserable and frustrated.”

Thanks for the reply but this basically means that the losing post offices “bitter”ness can follow you to the gaining office? Not really a good solution
perhaps?

Once the question has been answered, we lock the thread so it doesn't turn into a 5 page discussion. :)

I will be moving this thread to leave replacements.

The potentially gaining office can request some of your employment info to check on your history, like attendance, etc. And they may contact your current mgmt to inquire about you. But they could just as easily be the clueless flailing type of mgr who barely knows this transfer option exists, and knows or cares even less about how it takes place, and their eyes just glaze over at the mention of a new RCA to use...
so if you have a very bad relationship with current mgmt, it could be a disadvantage, but "gaining" mgr might be smart enough to filter what "losing" mgr says about you... Consider a landlord reference for a not so wonderful tenant you as landlord would like to get rid of, and someone else is considering taking them on--you're going to lay off the negative comments to hopefully get what you want, and probably praise the tenant more than is deserved, just to get them into new digs and out of your hair. So if mgr. gives horrible reviews, potentially gaining mgr must wonder if they are trying to dissuade me from taking you on? {and thus losing a good RCA} And if they say lots of good things, mgr. must at least have a passing thought of...hmmm, wonder if this is just gilding the (turd) lily? Everything is a double edged sword in the PO.
