With all the purple, pink, orange, green, etc., I see out there nowadays... probably anything is a go....
Is someone telling you any certain color is unacceptable... in these PC times, I'd think that'd be not politically correct (PC).... a great sin currently....

At the time when even the dumbest of our manglement class had to recognize we couldn't keep or recruit new delivery employees, these genius's decided to start a s**t storm over the shoes delivery employees wear. So I wouldn't be surprised if some empty suit would take it apon themselves to become the arbitrator of what is an acceptable hair style or color.

Yes, coloring was not the problem. It was doing it on the wall that caused the problems. So, it goes with people in trouble. They may see coloring as the issue and not take the wall into account.
This is why clearly defining the problem is the hard part.

It is NOT that we do not take your question seriously. It is just that with ALL that goes wrong every day in any given office that the color of someone's hair would be an issue. It's okay if the Priority arrives late every day but so & so cannot have green hair ? It's okay that we either do not hire RCAs and / or do all we can to to run them off but let's put so & so's pink hair at the very top of the list .

-- However - comma - there are some items that could be used, depending on the hair color.
- USPS Rural Carrier Dress Code dated March 22, 2020. In part: Clothing to include jewelry, and HAIR, should not be loose or dangling in such a way that it causes a safety hazard. ( IF the hair color is such to cause someone to do a double take, that could lead to an accident, than it might be classified as a "safety hazard" - yep, a bit of a stretch, I know. )
- Section 12.b. of the PO-603. Presenting a neat, clean, and professional appearance reflecting a positive postal image.
- Section 931.261 of the ELM -- Appearance. Postal employees are responsible for being adequately and properly dressed for duty. They are expected to maintain high standards of appearance, representing to the public the best tradition of service and efficiency while performing their official duties.
- Step 4 ( D-62 ) in part: Rural carrier employees are responsible for maintaining a neat and clean appearance and will be dressed in suitable attire when performing official duties.
- Dress Code Policy - Western Pa District ( June 19, 2015 ). In part: Hair, which restricts forward or peripheral vision or present a risk of being caught in machinery ( longer that shoulder length ) must be tied up in a manner that prevents it from hanging below the shoulder or be worn under a cap or other headpiece which does not add to the hazard. Hair, beards, and mustaches should be well groomed and clean.

I'm sorry to hear anyone is getting grief over this.
A (normally) gray-haired, stylish customer came to the door to get a delivery from me Saturday, and she had the coolest shades of green in her hair!
I thought it looked great, and told her so.
