Harassment on going over Route Evaluation on Auxiliary Route

This year my PM is constantly harassing me about going over my Evaluated time. It happens at least a couple times a week. Its been constant because of more mail. Can the PM penalize me? My route evaluation is only 2.67 hour a day and it feels like I have four hours of mail a day. I often finish at 2.75 hours or 3 hours. I don't feel safe to driving faster than I already do. This month I've been going about a hour or two over eval each week. Can I make this harassment stop? RCA with aux route.

Have you tried to talk to this PM in a genuine concerned approach? By this I mean, tell he or she that you are concerned as well. You would love for them to provide input on how you can achieve this. Tips or pointers to help identify where you could trim some time off of the route. If they are willing to get in there and look, they may find you were under evaluated ( like every route out there). Are you taking DPS to Street?

Most of the time I case my dps. I often have to wait for red pull down card. So I case it. The route used to be twice as big before I took over. A regular absorbed half my route not leaving much. But the the 2 apartment buildings slow me down.

My advice to you is visit all the local offices and make it known you are looking for a place to transfer to.

This will get back to the PM a hole and maybe he will adjust his attitude if he is facing getting his hands dirty if you leave

I gotta ask...

Does it really pay you to drive to work for less than 3 hours a day?

Are you forced to work Amazon Sunday as well?

If so is it really worth the hassle ?

Working 7 days a week for what, 25 hours and all the s**t you can eat from your ahole boss.

I'll give you a clue, it ain't getting any better.

They will lie, cheat you out of pay and if you are even a little contentious they will take advantage of you and abuse you.

Get out before you have wasted too much time being their whipping boy

-- Anyone else going over eval? Anyone getting close attention from manglement?

-- If the office does not have a steward, have you contacted the Assistant District Representative about manglement's interest in your work hours?

"A regular absorbed half my route not leaving much."

-- Why was part of the route absorbed by another router?

-- What is the current 2.67 hours based on?

-- Did you participate in the end of September count? If not, why not?

"But the the 2 apartment buildings slow me down."

-- How are parcels handled for the 2 apartment buildings? Numerous parcel lockers? Leave parcels at central desk? Have to take parcels to the door?

-- How is the turn-over rate at the apartments? A high rate means more time keeping up with the pink cards, etc.

-- How much of the route is dedicated to the 2 apartment buildings?

-- POV or LLV?

" I often have to wait for red pull down card."

-- How much time is spent waiting for the red pull down card? Sometimes, well a lot of the time, manglement overlooks the obvious.

-- And what is the red pull down card? We used to have purple cards ( naturally known as Barney Cards ) to put in the route's Hot Case slot after the clerks called "Hot Case is up".

Take a serious look at "MrMagoo's" post. Is the BS really worth it?

Step 4 ( P-115 ) RCA Transfers -- RCA's who have completed their probationary period ( 90 work-days or 1 calendar year ) may request a transfer in accordance with Article 30.2.F. If the gaining office accepts the employee's request for transfer, the losing post office MUST release the RCA. The transfer will be effective WITHIN 30 days of the notification of the losing office.

-- Good luck.

Stop casing your DPS and start filing wait time on a green card.

Your PM will either change your report time or will light a fire under the clerk's behind.

Take control of the ball, son. ;)

p.s. is anyone else in your office getting hassled? No? Disparate treatment.

p.p.s. Ask for the number to EAP because you are feeling stressed due to the bullying. File a hostile work environment grievance too.

look up Gene Mechanic here in Oregon.. hes a great contract and injury lawyer in regard to federal employees.

You are running a small AUX so 2080 is not an issue. No reason to be harassed. Were you just counted? Claim this if you were not recently counted... I believe parcel volume since last count has increased causing me to run over eval based on my last count numbers. Is there anything you are going to do about this? How about a later start time so I don't have to wait for HOT CASE pull card? Hope you are claiming wait time for this and getting paid. If not contact a REP. You do not have to stop casing your DPS. Management can only force you to stop casing DPS based on your leave time on you time sheet. Which is a result of the last count the route underwent.

Another dispute I had with PM regarding apt buildings is... there is no elevator so I have to walk 3 floors of stairs with this 50lb bag of kitty litter. That is going to take some extra time. Do you want me to write it up and leave it here? Or the elevator is real slow because it is piston operated from the bottom and it takes time to go up and down but while I was delivering someone called for it and I had to wait for it to return to the floor I was on.

Going over "leave time" is not a reason for forcing DPS to the street. Consistently going over the weekly eval or 2080 issues are reasons. I'm thinking mgmt possibly could be looking at the upcoming Christmas OT Period whereas Aux assigned subs are paid hourly instead of eval.

I say, talk to the PM. Maybe suggest a later start time as was stated previously. It is your choice to case or not case. I change daily depending on DPS volume that day. I don't see it as time saving to take it to the street but I have a lot of CBU stops which creates more trips to/from the vehicle & CBUs. Mine are set 5-6 feet from the curb so not able to work from the vehicle.

As to apt. pkgs, our office has a couple of complexes that refuse to house pkgs in their office so our carriers leave notices for pickup @the PO. We rarely go to the 3rd floor & some don't even bother with 2nd floors. Our mgmt tends to leave it at our discretion. I have no issue with picking up or delivery to 2nd floor.

This^^^ is why I suggested to stop casing and start filing wait time.

If he is casing only because he would otherwise be standing around, ah heck no. Get paid that valuable wait time.
