Higher Level Assignment

We have a guy that is a RCA and acting 204b. Wouldn't that be considered a higher level assignment? I thought that you had to be a <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">career employee</span></strong> (Regular, Clerk, Custodian, City Carrier etc.)  to do that.

Cliff Clavin -- "We have a guy that is a RCA and acting 204b. Wouldn’t that be considered a higher level assignment?"

--  Most certainly.

--  You have a couple of choices:

a.  Grieve it while handing that reference to the PM / Supervisor, or

b.  Inform your Assistant District Representative and let the ADR had the PM / Supervisor numerous references.

Hopefully manglement will chose to ignore it so a Step 4 would be forth coming with a "cease and desist" clause as well as "monetary penalty for future offenses".

So an RCA cannot be higher level, can a PTF?

Can they be counters for the upcoming count?

Can they do the street observation for the route?

They are full time employees..sorta...

Nope.

Only regular carriers may be detailed to a higher level assignment.

Call your ADR/DR immediately and report.  They can't stop violations if they don't know about them.  :)

Was just all rumor mill, was curious as there were several PTF that wanted to do this as a learning experience.

My PO is not letting either RCA or PTF do higher level, just to be clear....

Thanks Oi Veh!!

PTF = Part Time Flexible... not Full Time...  <img title="Confused" alt="Confused" src="https://www.ruralmailtalk.ruralinfo.net/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys/sf-confused.gif" />

But, they are "career" employees... so that might qualify as "sorta"...  <img title="Wink" alt="Wink" src="https://www.ruralmailtalk.ruralinfo.net/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys/sf-wink.gif" />
