What makes that even more frustrating is that VMF can see those problems remotely and they choose not to respond proactively.I've heard many have head issues due to detonation from the Postal Service requiring them to use the fuel they are not rated for. Personally have seen almost all of them having bad right front struts and mounts (surprise), some severe coolant and oil leaks, sliding doors falling off, and turbo/vac issues from entirely clogged intake systems (VMF doing zero maintenance).
The Metris isn't a bad vehicle it's the abuse and absolute neglect by the VMF that is doing them in. Lots of other applications commercial, livery and as RVs you see them with 200,000 miles or more and they are fine but that is because they are maintained.
That is what boggles the mind, the system is all automated on newer vehicles and the telematics notify them at the correct intervals to maintain everything. They ignore it and complain carriers are rough on vehicles, or they have to save money... Waiting until a vehicle blows up and having to replace it instead of cheap maintenance doesn't make sense. What makes that even more frustrating is that VMF can see those problems remotely and they choose not to respond proactively.

We just had a Metris at VMF for a simple wheel bearing job for over 2 weeks. Came back with loss of turbo power and parking brake problem. It took a week for vmf to diagnose a bad head gasket. Bets on how many weeks to fix it? Google says it's a 16-24 hour job.
