It is a tad early - I know - yet 'twouden't be nice if the PO would communicate !! The Eve daze fall upon a SUNDAY !!!  Will I be scheduled or not ?  Curious to know if upon Santa's Eve - Will us Elf's be Sleighing more than just Amazon ??? Will the 'Elder Elf's' be joining us ? I think not !! ******* And -- May-hap ! - shall the PO provide a New Year Party upon our return that dark night of revelry ???

<span class="st">On Comet, on Cupid, on Donner and Blitzen! </span>... I'm off Saturday, I'm off Sunday, I'm off Monday... and probably Tuesday too... <img title="Surprised" alt="Surprised" src="https://www.ruralmailtalk.ruralinfo.net/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys/sf-surprised.gif" />

So, to all... a MERRY Christmas!!!  And, to all a Good Night!!!!   <img title="Laugh" alt="Laugh" src="https://www.ruralmailtalk.ruralinfo.net/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys/sf-laugh.gif" />

It is likely that Amazons & Prioritys will be flowing out the Post Office doors on Christmas Eve & New Years Eve as this would normally be a work day if it fell on any other day than Sunday. Christmas Day has NOT been an Amazon day in the past so probably only a sub running Expresses for Regular hourly pay.

I can say with absolute certainty that Regular Carriers will NOT be working either Sundays (Eves) as they both fall out of the realm of the Awesome Christmas Overtime Period.

I can guaraaanteeeeeee you every RCA will be working that Sunday, and NO ONE leaves until that office is completely empty!! All parcels, spurs, and every class of mail. Nothing is left behind on those days!! If the reg/RCA didn't deliver it on Saturday, it is absolutely delivered on the Eve. And when you're done with your crap, you're sent out to pick up 3-4 pkgs off a newbie; even if you're 15 miles away from them.  Because god forbid grandma in Florida doesn't get the Florida oranges you internet sent her from Wisconsin!!

All RCAs, PSEs, and CCAs in our office received a letter on Saturday, November 4th stating that we will most likely be delivering on 11/11, 11/19, 12/24, 12/31, and 1/7.  We are not an amazon hub.  It was just a "heads-up" letter to let us know that we may be working holiday amazon delivery.  I was really surprised that someone was thinking ahead!

--  Shouldn't that read "Awful" Christmas No-Overtime Period.

--  Makes one wonder why the NRLCA has a 3-weak period for the "Christmas No-Overtime Period" season while the "peak season" for the other postal crafts is longer?  NALC ( 25 NOV --JAN 19 ) and APWU ( 11 NOV thru 05 )?

-- My first post office had city carriers and both the city side and clerks used to love to rub it in about how much they made in over-time during the Christmas season.

It's been 3 weeks for as long as I can remember. Every year the crazy stuff starts earlier & earlier, though.

In our office, we get Overtime. RDWL peeps are scheduled in during that time (& before) so subs can be parcel runners. I worked 6-day workweeks last Nov-Dec and 21 days straight & 18 straight in the years prior to that. Our office doesn't cut us off at our Eval... we just keep working. Of course those peeps that are super under eval normally get a big target on their back when suddenly working over eval in December. Thankfully I'm not one of them.
