snext week forecast just came out. Highs in the mid 90s. I have a 90 mile route, and 4 hours of that route is at least 15 minutes away from any form of air conditioning, save for breaking and entering. Im in an llv, and i shouldnt be, but the metris is going to be 4 weeks in repair. Ive also had heat stroke four or five times already in my life. So I figure I have two options. First, i put in for vacation. Which will be denied for lack of subs. Or I just call in sick. But i can only call in sick really two days a week? Without a doctors appointment. So whats the best plan here? Im not going to die for this place.

when i started out, i was in a vehicle with no ac. i sat on ice packs and put one in the small of my back. this helps keep your core cool. my cooler was full of ice packs. i also froze powerade and let it thaw so it became a slushie. drink lots of water. a froggy tog is good too to keep around your neck. ever now and again i would take a cold water out of my cooler and pour it over my head and down my back. i know i did some other things, but that's all i can remember right now.

Go to the doctor and get a note that says you can not handle the high temperatures inside the llv for any length of time. This is due to previous heat strokes. Temps inside the llv can easily be 20 to 40 degrees warmer than the outside temp. You must have a/c during those days.
Why does everyone think LLV's are hot? As long as the vehicle is moving it's not bad. It's when you have to stop and lock it up to do central delivery that it becomes hot. When I delivered in the 90% humidity we have here in the South, yes, I would lose about 7 # a day in sweat, but I lose that much mowing the yard too. The last 2 years, I had to sit in the back observing and it wasn't overly hot in the back.......... as long as LLV was moving!!! I had them take right on red a bunch !! lol
tell that to the guy here that showed me a picture of a thermometer in his hitting 130
the LLVs are brutal
hell i'm in a metris and i've been struggling the past month; in TX with it being nearly 100 for the past 2 months straight like mentioned above lol
if you want some suggestions, can always go the 1767 route, though good luck
would have to be pretty persistent about it i imagine but maybe supplemental assistance could be a thing

Almost 3 weeks now temperatures is at triple digits in Southern California ( inland empire) . I haven’t seen triple digits for such a long duration before . Usually a week or so then you get a break for few days . Wednesday was 107 , Thursday 105 , today 103 . Not good to keep your sanity. 4 subs quit in last 10 days. I would think heat was not the main reason but I am sure it didn’t help . Oh BTW , last 3/4 days humidity is 60%+
