Monday, July 3..I am scheduled to run a route which I am not primary RCA . (actually not even on matrix for it...no one else to run it) because MGT MAKING my regular work( yea...we'll see about that....) I highly suspect (and would take odds and bets on it) that he will call off monday.....so.........does that put me immediately put back on my primary route? or am i stuck on this other route ?

Stuck, since you were scheduled on the other route, while the regular may call in at a later time limit makes no difference once you are already scheduled

Sometimes my super would let us switch over if we wanted though.

This is incorrect.

If I am understanding your situation correctly, they are supposedly going to call the regular in for the route that you are Primary on, but you are thinking that the regular on that route will not show up/call in sick. This would leave your Primary route uncovered.

In this case, regardless of what the schedule says, if the regular on your Primary route calls in sick, even if you were scheduled on a different route, you are entitled to be (and you should be) switched back to your primary.

Quivo is correct. Once scheduled, you are not available, even if it's your primary.

Where previously scheduled specifically does not apply is for a 5/1 aux carrier. Technically they are scheduled on the aux, but they are supposed to be used on their primary if the regular is unavailable.

Can you cite something more current?

In the Order of Consideration document it point blank says the #1 choice is the primary leave replacement.

Also in the Matrix Guidelines document it makes no mention of the schedule taking precedence.

In all the years I've been at my office, they make it a point to switch Primaries back to their Primary route.

While it is older, it was referenced in the 1995-2010 guide. So things added into the contract that expired in 2010 were included. That part was not removed.

The last 2 contracts were from arbitration, and a recent vote, so there is no JCAM like NALC & APWU have.

I agree that the route coverage should revert back to the highest ranked matrix positions. Contractually they don't have to. Some offices do that. Some don't. There are provisions that manglement MAY switch subs back to routes they know from ones they don't, but may does not mean shall.

In the OP's case if there was nobody to run the route that was open, and the voluntold regular doesn't show up, the OP might be running all or part of both routes.
