So I’m just curious how picking up shifts at neighboring offices works?
Do you just go in to another office to sub (obviously if you’ve talked to them before hand) and case and deliver a route you’ve never seen before ?

-- Basically, that is it. Introduce yourself to the PM at neighboring post office(s). Let the PM know what your schedule is and say your available for any work the office may have -- that does not conflict with your home office.

-- Actually, with the 2018-2021 contract wording, other post offices may be able to reach out to other post offices for unscheduled RCA's.

-- Don't forget, you could be tossed onto a new route in your own office that you may not have ever worked before or may have not worked in over a year. In both cases be sure to get paid the evaluation or ACTUAL TIME, whichever is greater.

Now whenever a carrier hasn’t carried a route for more then a year or it’s their first time, it automatically gives them straight time if they go over eval.
