Management forcing day off for 6/0

I am designation 79 assigned to an Aux route and I am 6/0. I run the Aux route Monday through Saturday, but they also schedule me for Amazon Sunday. We only have 2 RCA's in our office although there should be 6 total.

Management is trying to force me to take a day off from the Aux route. I don't want to as I do not want to lose credit for sick leave.

Where can I find in the contract that says they can or can't force me?

Thanks

If they force issue, then initiate a grievance. Art. 30.2.G.5
Here is some language regarding Sunday / Holiday delivery. Pay special attention to the next to last paragraph on page 2.
It's actually only the last sentence of the paragraph. The rest of that is for designation 74 and this person states they are a Des 79. The 40 hour issue would be what would keep them from being scheduled for Sunday. Your most important reference for working ALL of the Aux route days would be Article 30.2.G.5.

Fill a grievance you will win and get paid for taking a day off. I had same situation back when I was RCA. Being a 79 and name being on the aux route those are your guaranteed hours. Now bad news is that they can still use you for sundays.

Did management improperly require me to take AL on my aux assignment?
I don’t think management is making them use AL. OP please correct me, but it sounds like management is abiding by district rules for working over 6 days a week. Management is forcing OP to have a day off besides Sunday. So they can be used for Sunday when they need another person.

OP if that is true just a word of warning. Our contract has no stipulations for how many days in a row you can be worked. If you file they may decide to work you 7 days a week until they hire another sub. With current district mandates I doubt this will happen just worse case scenario. By all means file on being forced off. Talk to rep in how to word it ask to be made whole in regards to potential lose if pay but mainly SL and AL accrued by aux hours.

All the languages everywhere say may, management may do this, may do that, blah, blah, blah. Giving them free reign to do whatever they want. so you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. file and get your 6 days and then they retaliate by adding sunday work because the mou says May bypass if over 40 hours. don't file and have a day off and still work sunday. unless you have a great steward/DR or a wimpy manager that will agree to anything. my manager disregards whatever evidence is placed in front of her, denies everything, tells lies to get us working against each other, and then retaliates out of spite. total bitch.

@Garlban - understand your angst, but please edit your post so that you are in compliance with the forum guidelines regarding language set by our website owner or i will have to delete the post in its entirety.
