Missing Parcels???

So every day my scanner is missing at least 20+ parcels. They never appear on Package Lookahead. The problem is there's both a mailing address and street address. Amazon and UPS parcels seem to be the worse about not showing up. Most of them go to parcel lockers which I guess is technically okay because I at least get credit for that but there's absolutely no way I'm receiving a door credit whenever I have to go to a house either because I run out of lockers or the package is to big to fit into a locker. My question is can this be fixed? There is no correlation between the mailing and street address. The only reason customers use both is because they don't know who's delivering the package. How can I fix/resolve this?

If your office has a PASS machine, the clerks can enter the street address on the DSS laptop. Now, do they or will they actually have the time to do so ? I don't know how big your office is or how many parcels the office averages. I am gathering that these parcels are "no route" parcels . When the machine says "no route" , there is a screen that pops up on that laptop. That's when these can be corrected. Once re-scanned, they should be on your look ahead.

Make sure you enter unscanned parcel for each one (at the door or mailbox) you will not get credit otherwise. So keep track and when the supervisor clears you ask how many scans you had. Keep in mind that you need to subtract the number of pickup scans you had.

pretty sure you get credit whether its in your lookahead or not, given that the address is assigned to your route.

If it's not in the lookahead, the parcel is not assigned to the route, so electronically no credit is given. Thus the awkward "make it work"around seen above. If it was a hold or something that 'did' at one point show up on lookahead than there was credit given.

If in the future it shows up, awesome.

Your scanner will still have a scan logged within, along with the GPS coordinates of the scan.
The barcode has all the info needed associated with it, as well - the lookahead has nothing to do with it.

So you will get the scan's action credits but not the parcel (or its load time). When they look for the gps tracker of the barcode it will show where it was scanned, which is good for accountability. In the above scenario the barcode says it has no relevance to your route, thus the problem of no credit.

The lookahead is the MDD saying it is for the route that day. Without it, the route has no data pertaining to the parcel. If you deliver a fraud parcel due to the address being copy-pasted over another to re-use a barcode, you get no credit still. The lookahead is our only method of verification it belongs to us.

Yes, that is what the lookahead effectively states.
No, the lookahead is not what determines our credit for the parcel for the day. That is done elsewhere, here's an old thread covering it: Are we paid by what is on our package look ahead
And your verification can be done at the end of the day by going into the scanner and hitting review entries - use the arrows to go to the bottom to see your total number of scans; the thread also covers that. There's a report somewhere but i doubt management would both know how to find and it and also print it out for you.
The lookahead is strictly made from what the clerks give an arrival scan; it serves no other purpose other than to help carriers/management give access to an easy list of things.

It's the same reason why you should never deliver a parcel for another route as a regular - the route it belongs to *will* get credit for your scan, however, you will get no credit whatsoever.

The only instance in which at least i would unscanparcel, is if the parcel shows what would otherwise be an invalid address i.e. unit 2 instead of unit B or some random apt. number on it when there shouldn't be, etc. Those are the only one's i'm not clear on, and as a result generally just end up sending back because of it - same with any letters addressed similarly. If management doesn't really pay attention to that scan great, i'd say do it as you feel necessary, otherwise i'm sure theyd get on to you for it.
