Moving questions

I'm planning on moving in a few months and have a few questions for anyone to help me out.I have some leave/sick as aux route carrier ... if I do move/quit I cannot get paid that leave unless I use it before I go, correct? Also I am about to become a regular at the start of next year (deciding to move out the area; if I'm still here I'll bid on it just in case) if so how would I go about transferring? Wouldn't it take a year before I can transfer?

mariomail -- Just a bit confused over your questions.

"I have some leave/sick as aux route carrier ... if I do move/quit I cannot get paid that leave unless I use it before I go, correct?"

-- If you quit, you should get a lump sum payment for unused annual leave but not for unused sick leave.

-- If you move, unknown as we don't know if you will be in or out of the USPS.

"Also I am about to become a regular at the start of next year (deciding to move out the area; if I'm still here I'll bid on it just in case).

-- How sure are you of becoming a regular at the start of the new year?

-- As an RCA, to transfer, you need to have completed the probationary period and submit a written request to be reassigned to another office -- provided there is an RCA vacancy at the other office.

-- As a regular, you would need to have a mutual exchange with another regular carrier in another post office. And you would not be swapping routes, just post offices. A Mutual Exchange Request Form needs to be signed by the carriers and installation heads.

-- Or just resign, move to another area and retake the RCA exam.
