My Statement To The Postal Inspector

I have some advice for you: Grow up. Take some college courses, educate yourself a little bit. Take some initiative. You are calling the union rep "the kid"???? THE KID? All you should have done AT MOST was pretend you had a copy of the old matrix, found your place on it and grieved when someone else worked your turn. You would have won.

I can't believe these people are sympathizing with you. Are you one of these antifa cowards that cover your face and attack people with a permit to exercise their free speech? Anti-KKK???? WHAT KKK? 30 surviving idiots from the 50's? What are you people talking about? Nazis??? Are you out of your mind? I can remember a time when MEN would say "I might disagree with what you are saying, but I will defend to the death your right to say it". I have seen you people on TV. Foul mouthed, obscene, skinny armed, anarchists. No wonder the boss wants you out. Look pal, face it, you are a loser, no one owes you anything in this life. Earn your own way. I struggled and juggled another job while subbing with the PO. Can YOU? Granted, you might not have the energy to "protest" if you do.

George, you must be drunk, high, or have a very bad case of hemorrhoids to keep you up this time of night and that irritated. Calicovalley was the one who was being limited on his "free speech" by being "checked" to see if he was suicidal. You should maybe go back and read the posts slowly while concentrating,(or at a time when you are able to concentrate) then you may see that Calico's Pm is way out of line on many fronts. You aren't Calico's Pm or steward are you? Because that would make a lot more sense out of your post if you were.

@George, I believe that you have been warned before. There is nothing wrong with healthy disagreement and I will defend your right to do that, but don't cross lines into personal attacks.

We could get into a huge discussion about the correlation between antifa and brown shirts as well as that screaming speech is violence while beating someone down sends a confusing message at best, but that would degenerate the discussion on this thread into a screaming match. Not good.

The fact remains that calico is being harassed for peaceful demonstration outside of work hours and regardless which side of the aisle we hail from, that is still anyone's Constitutional right as long as it's not on work time, in uniform or reflecting a non-professional image of the postal service. From calico's description, none of that applied; hence, a grievance or a lawsuit is in order.

It might be you should have zapped this entire thread. I kept reading it trying to make some sense out of it but it just kept being a rant. When a comment finally appeared that made some sense you told the poster they had been warned before.

I have participated in peaceful demonstration. We did not wear masks or scream at anyone. I have also dealt with many people over the years both in the military and the postal service who had a chip on their shoulder and would never be happy. Translation; if you do not give me preferential treatment due to my religion, gender or race you are a redneck hick from the sticks.

I hope my mini rant does not get me zapped.

Probably not, but it does get you identified as another management member.

? No, George has never been "warned before". YES, I re-read the rant and it still irritates me this morning.

YES, employees must be of good repute and moral character OUTSIDE OF WORKING HOURS to maintain their employment. YES, the boss can question whether an employee publicly threatening to PISS on a "NAZI" statue or some object in public and in THE CENTER OF TOWN reflects well on the organization. (the PM used the term "urinate", I guarantee he didn't when he said it".

NO, that threat does not seem to be "peaceful protest". It does seem to me to be destructive, disrespectful, unseemly, and vulgar. It was no doubt committed in the midst of a mob of people looking for trouble.

I guarantee that with some of the hints I get in his rant, that we aren't getting the whole story. I stand by my first appraisal.

Hey Doris if you had any clue how much management has disliked me over the years you would not make that statement. You have no idea how many grievances or threats of grievances I have made that have made positive changes for me or other others I have worked with.

@Calicovalley: How on earth did the Postal Service screw up and actually hire an RCA with a spine?

I kept it hid for 19 months, never let anybody know I had it

Good morning George. The last guy who talked like that to me online was my cousin Jeff who, as it turned out, was basically holding my elderly crippled aunt hostage in her own house & had been for years. You remind me of Jeff. I joined the USPS to make sure that people like you get their doors knocked on by an observant federal employee randomly. "Knock, knock, Mail Man!" I always say with a chipper voice like some Mr. Rogers character. Mr. Rogers was a tough SOB, by the way, so don't mistake my kindness for weakness.

I genuinely get what you're saying, and figure that you and I have walked very different paths to get to the points that we are each at today. You fall into so many simple fallacies with your insults, but you're basically spot-on with the "getting the whole story" part. I can't tell the whole story, the most minute details, but I can tell the big meat-and-potatos parts of it & describe the tiny details if necessary.

George, I'm not going to waste much more time with you. Life is precious & today is the first rain to fall on Calico Valley in nearly two months. It won't be a very Calico autumn if the trees start going into drought-mode & drop all at once. It's yet another beautiful day George, and tomorrow will be too. Gotta go put some trusses on a frame we built last week, because dollar dollar bill, George.

"George, you must be drunk, high, or have a very bad case of hemorrhoids to keep you up this time of night and that irritated.," So is this ok because he/she agreed with poster? This is why I don't participate in this forum too often. Not all are treated fairly. Forum has become one sided.

That's unfortunate... it would be nice to see more people participate in discussions...

I now try to stay away from discussions that get too political... but in today's environment that's harder and harder to do... even these discussion boards tend to have certain slants... go to Delphi, and that board is ran by a dude in California, so I'll let you guess his slant...

Not sure of the Postal Texan's politics... but she is from Texas... just sayin'...

But, for the most part, I haven't seen a lot of political issues enter here... and that's probably for the best... imo...

George and Frozen toes, Sorry if I've offended you in any way. George certainly can dish it out and I'm sure he can take it, but frozen toes, I'm guessing that my post, although offensive to some, was made that way not as an attack on George, but a defense to Calico, and probably is the reason I wasn't "warned". You'll have to ask Oi veh, or in this case I might call her "Mom".

I happen to be a red neck from the sticks, grew up on a farm, live on a farm, work on a farm when I get off work at the post office. I hold God in first place in my life, family second, and (the conservative part) of my country third, and if Calico is what you presented him as (and maybe he is, he again said too much and that he has no religion), the furthest away from his mind set as I could be. He does "deserve", as far as God and country is concerned, to be defended against the wrong-doings of his pm, and helped if we can, on this site, because that is what this site is about. I try not to attack anyone on this site, but I don't hesitate to defend "my" (not always right) position and those I believe to be right also. If that, and the way I do that offends you, I am sorry.

@George, my mistake. In my neck of the woods, "I believe" translates to "I think". Twas a thread shut down by my fellow mod in which you were a participant that I was thinking of.

@FrozenToes, sorry you think that way...you are one of my favorite people on here. I didn't see Rt2's statements as a personal attack, but more of a question. But I can see how it could be seen as a personal attack...so, @Rt2mailman, you cool your jets too.

I don't want to shut this thread down, because I think that what calico is experiencing is harassment pure and simple. It matters not if I agree or disagree with his position/politics/belief system/whathaveyou. This is still America, we are still technically free and we should not be harassed at work for our non-work activities. We have the right to disagree, protest and demonstrate, as long as we harm none. I also think that PT doesn't want political discussion on here...but this harassment issue is real.

And it could be any one of us tomorrow. I don't want my boss giving me grief for what I do in my off time. Do any of you?

If the thread continues to devolve, then I, heyman or RIA will shut it down.

Due to everyone who commented in this thread I've gotten to the bottom line of my USPS problem, which is that I have not received due process. I've always felt like "terrorists" in Guantanamo Bay deserve due process, prisoners of war deserve due process, KKK Grand Wizards deserve due process, killers & rapists deserve due process. So excuse me for feeling like Rural Carrier Associates deserve due process, no matter their politics or religion.

Thanks to everyone, including the RIadmin & wonderful moderators. You guys are wonderful, keep up the good work! Please shut the thread down, if you would like.

I'm leaving it as is, unless it turns into a screaming match. ;)

Please let us know what the final outcome is.

Will do. Thanks again to all who helped!

A month goes by and no word or update. I suppose he was either successfully terminated or embarrassed and logged in under a new name.

An interesting case this was. Do we stand with union brothers for any reason or in some cases do we need to speak truth and stand for what we know is right? Should we be afraid to criticize even if its warranted?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeXvR4ND4kY

If the guy in the helmet was an employee of USPS would you support management trying to fire the guy? I would. Unapologetically. The same for some 35-45 year old (guessing age since his union rep was a "kid") who was engaged with a mob in destructive mayhem in the center of town and frightening co workers with talk of 5 or 6 or so invading "klansmen", and 4 or 5 people pretending to be Nazis because they had a swastika flag.

One side hides their faces and the other side has nothing to hide. This simple, distilled, root fact, how can it not speak to the heart of these people?

Dear George, my family & friends are kept up to date. I'm in deep now, and am coming to the realization that I know my case (& the legal framework surrounding it) better than any attorney could possibly comprehend. Thanks again to everyone here who helped me when I needed it most, your advice has proven to be golden.

I've heard it said, that anybody who represents their self in a legal matter... has a fool for a client...
