Need advice from smarter people than me.

What if anything would you all do if the Leave Replacement (RCA) assigned to your route refuses to deliver Boxholders?Has anyone else came across this behavior?  Because I know this is going on....can I be held accountable??

Learn about "full day's relief" in the knowledgebase.  If it is happening to you, you come in, find the undelivered boxholders at your case in the morning, and before touching your mail, you ask the PM or supervisor "How are you going to compensate me for this undelivered mail?"  Either aux. assistance equal to the time it would take you to deal with the boxholders, or additional time (pay) on 8127.  If they flatly refuse one  of these options, you file a grievance and you WILL get compensated.

I use to have a regular (I'm an RCA now on aux, but that's another subject) that called in all the time on boxholder days. Lol actually almost any day as she called in one year 50!! times.  I always took them or cased and then took them.  She is now someone else's regular as she switched routes and the gal who is her sub now NEVER takes them...  She figures if the regular doesn't care why should she.  Not my way of thinking, but I'm the best sub ever...lol

As HardearnedTan has stated above, you may also ask stupidvisor if they even gave permission for mail to be curtailed. If permission was given then you should expect to be paid by 8127 time.

I should have said.....she refuses to deliver them....I mean they are gone....but not in the boxes.  What is so odd they were NOT addressed...just a simple furniture ad....would have been so easy to flip in the boxes.   I had Boxholders on Wednesday so you kinda know if the Wednesday Boxholders are still in the box and the furniture ad isn't anywhere in the box.....over and over again on the route....the furniture ad wasn't put in the box.  These days people don't pick up their mail everyday so a carrier knows what is delivered on their day off.  And NO ...I didn't leave them....they came in on my day off.....I have never left anything for another RCA or Regular.

This is why I need advice.....it isn't easy when you think the RCA assigned to your route threw them in a ditch or trash someplace....that is why I wonder how responsible I can be.  My knee jerk reaction is call the Inspection Service.  This has happened before to at least 3 other carriers and the PM and in fact the last 3 PM have been told of this behavior by this RCA.

That is a really weird situation to be in.  If you can't physically prove the RCA threw them away then you don't have much of a case to go after.  Best case is inform your management that you don't believe the boxholders were delivered and you did not receive them the next day.  After that I would think the responsibility of thought would be off you and rest with your management to determined if they were properly delivered.

ok, someone may have or may not have carried boxholders on the day you are off. If they aren't in the building for you to have to carry them the next day or so, .................What does it matter??    You didn't have to do the work         quit worrying about if they are in a ditch or in a garbage can

Honesty that what matters here. Call shouldn't have to worry about this, but he does suspect something then the best thing to do would report it to management and move on.

If you didn’t do anything improper, and you have no proof anyone else did anything improper, I’d mind my own business. The job of holding carriers accountable is for management, not other carriers.

You all are right again.....not my problem.  I have seen this all before....first a carrier cheats in the little things (if there is such a thing in the Postal Service) then they get walked out in cuffs.    I am just so Thankful for Our Scanner.

callofthewild -- [ ads have just "disappered" - not in the office nor were they delivered ].

-- Just like security cameras catch carrier tossing parcels on to porches ( certainly a good thing such cameras are not allowed on the post office work floor! ), some camera or someone will eventually see the RCA "taking care of such ads".

-- Or some "dumpster diver" will alert the post office or the local media.

-- Thanks to the "wonder" scanner, possibly a supervisor will note the RCA seems to be somewhat off the beaten path and investigate.

-- In any case, walk the straight and narrow. Karma will show up eventually.
