New Aux Creation

Aux

New member
Hello, I have a question about a new aux that was just created in my small rural office. We have 2 routes and now one aux route of 2 hrs evaluated. I asked the postmaster when it would be up for bid and he replied "I don't think aux routes this small need to be be posted." I'm about 99% sure this is false and all route must be posted to assign a carrier. I am not the senior sub, but I know the senior sub may not take it because she works another full time job and lives 45 mins away. The timesheets printed this week have her name on the "relief" position and "vacant" on the regulars spot. Does this mean she was assigned to the route without anyone bidding? I just want the chance to be assigned to it and am okay if she decides to take it.  To clarify, this aux was created this past saturday, so there's no way it could have been posted yet.

Aux routes do not go up for bid like regular routes. They are offered to RCAs by seniority. If the senior RCA refuses, it will be offered to the next most senior RCA and on down the line.
