New RCA here

4 corners and “regular way” of pulling down interest me. Tell me more.

4 corners is pulling the mail down from the case and placing the mail in a regular (square) sized tub one address at a time and then going to the other corner with the next address. Hard to explain imo but it’s essentially grabbing one address and placing it along the front of the tub, then the next address goes to the left side of the tub on top of the mail u placed in the tub before that, next address would go along the back side of the tub and the next address along the right side. I didn’t get to actually do thst method they just showed us. She said most post offices don’t want us to use that method. She said they are fine with criss crossing and just pulling down all flat which I would call just standard way I guess.

Also, if DPS were better, I might be a bigger fan of taking it straight to the street... I pull out a LOT of mail for other towns (Zips)... and I also pick up lots from customers after my sub delivers it mistakenly in their mail boxes... again, for me, from what I have seen, casing is better, at least to me/for me... jmho...

So, if we can agree that casing DPS is likely more accurate and SAFE... then why is it that the USPS is encouraging new peeps to take it straight to the street??? Isn't it SAFETY FIRST??? Don't we care about ACCURACY??? Or, is it just about hustling peeps quickly out of the office??? Which side of their mouths are they speaking??? ?
They speak out of both sides of their mouth all the time!

-- In case you hadn't noticed it, there are sections of the RRECS that are for THREE BUNDLES.

-- Always thought Rural Carriers used a ONE Bundle system. Times are changing.

I always tell the newbies:
It's not a race. There's no trophy, brownies, or hugs waiting on you.
Safety, accuracy first, and the speed will increase on it's own as you learn and build confidence.
Don't answer your cell. Period! They don't pay your bill, and you don't need the distraction. Just do your job, and get back. They'll have their opinions regardless of your speed. Who. Cares.
Work every route you can. Learn from everyone. Keep your opinion to yourself. You'll develop your own style, and you'll appreciate the different techniques you've learned to get there.
No one is your friend. No one is your shrink. And NO ONE in management thinks your the best RCA they've ever seen so don't fall for their schemes.
Record every hour of every route in a little note pad. Trust no one to get your pay correct, so check and double check.
Have a smile, we represent the face of the USPS. ;)
