i kind of figured this was coming, and thought my route was short by a mile or more. in august, we did a remeasurement with a verified odometer, and gained enough to bump me up an hour in eval. try to cut my route with a scanner measurement, and my grievance will point to recent measurement by an odometer. Not to worry, the route remeasuring will shave enough off of every rural route to more than make up for the wasted money...coming your way soon if it hasn't already.
Just lost one. Put in their paperwork to go. Idle chit chat today revealed they are tired of being forced to cover other offices after 3 months. Also a surprise statement from them,... I figure this short term gig will look good on my Resume because I worked for the USPS and have a proven clean background check by them for my next gig.
YepAll I can say is RUN!!!
RUN FAR, FAR AWAY!!!!
Or apply to anything besides RCA.
Feel to take a look through my previous posts... It'll give you a good idea of what you could be up against.
It really just depends on what office you get hired into.
Our routes were being measured with a "route measuring tool" other than the scanner; takes two managers to run and record the route supposedly; we had to sign off on choosing to or not to ride along while using a leave day to do so...i kind of figured this was coming, and thought my route was short by a mile or more. in august, we did a remeasurement with a verified odometer, and gained enough to bump me up an hour in eval. try to cut my route with a scanner measurement, and my grievance will point to recent measurement by an odometer.
No one's counting our flats now.PO thought we were gonna loose 3 miles or more so we had them measure only lost 1 1/2 , Still a LOSS though, how can they do this when action began because of scanner knowledge when RRECS is not even play yet? Has anyone else started having their Flats counted now ?
No one's counting our flats now.
Just flats?
FSS flats? (In yellow tubs/trays.)
Machine sorted flats in white tubs?
Bundled flats?
Loose flats worked by clerks?
Rework flats?
Letters turned into flats by address orientation?
Parcels that during count measure out as flats?
Hhhhmmm, why would they do that? FFS has already been exposed as a money wasting boondoggle.Bundled flats, and loose flats worked by clerks
We don't know why they just started counting......….that's why curious about others. Possibly to see if our small post office is even viable?Hhhhmmm, why would they do that? FFS has already been exposed as a money wasting boondoggle.
So why are they counting the flats? (Those two flat categories are what we use for our DUVRS. We get withdrawal time, and the amounts we pull are put on the 4240.)
Do you get withdrawal time?
Do you already get the cursed FFS flats?

Check to see if you can sign up for unemployment for"lack of work". You would get paperwork showing how much you can earn in a week and compliment it with full or a partial amount of unemployment. If you make too much in a week it just kicks you out and then the next time you dont earn enough ...sign back up . You can keep doing this until the expiration date on the paperwork. Lifesaver for life of a sub.Life as an RCA.
Senior RCA, full complement 7 routes for first time since I joined 4 yrs 9 months ago.
Down to 1 day a week, 9.2 hr 113 mile route.
Get call this morning to work 8.4 85 mile route.....sub 1 injured at his other job...sub2 on another route....my regular gets called in...i take a cut in pay doing a route not as familiar with....anyway, this is what you are looking at as an RCA.
Worse, regular is working DACA5, not taking an x day upcoming monday thru friday....1 day this week on a smaller route and smaller ema.
We'll see what happens the next 2.5 months...be interesting.
I noticed some of my flats today were two magazines for the same address, wrapped in plastic so they only count as one flat.We don't know why they just started counting......….that's why curious about others. Possibly to see if our small post office is even viable?
And, at 1% per year... it ain't much... do the math.... 20% of $60K.... $1K per month in pension... for 30 years.... just sayin'.... pitiful... pity full... ?Gotta do 30 to get 20...the Royal Scam.
I've been having that for a while...at least a year. I canceled my subscriptions to those magazines and sent the publisher a letter outlining why. I have picked up 2 other subscriptions to make it up to my excellent reg and equally excellent sub.I noticed some of my flats today were two magazines for the same address, wrapped in plastic so they only count as one flat.
I think that may be why they're counting you, to see if your zipcode should be included in this requirement for the mailer.
Ooops! I see we've gotten off track....and I contributed.
@Boricuanessa - did you decide to join the rural ranks?
