New Regular Confused By Pay Reduction

I just received a Notice of Personnel Action in the mail. I have been a 43J since the last MMS. The form now shows the route is a 42J and a $2000 loss in salary. Does this change have to do with the mapping program? I don't feel I've gotten to spend enough time with it and perhaps things are wrong in there that have reduced the route. I mean, how do you lose an hour when nothing significant has changed? I had asked the PM after a hurried mapping session if this would affect my pay and the PM said "no." But it has, and quite significantly. That's $160 less per month and I'm already scraping by. I'm so upset. Am I to understand this recalculation of salaries will happen monthly? What can I do to boost the evaluation? I'm an honest person, not looking to cheat, but what's an honest person to do when they're part of a system that continually proves to be rigged against them?

If ya can't beat em, join em. I would feel so much worse about potential dishonesty if i didn't have a circular dated for the first day of a mail count show up the very first day after a two week count. Tub claimed it was at an office 4 miles away. For two weeks. Riiiiiight. Couldn't have been more blatant about it. Don't feel bad or lose sleep. Honesty gets you no where. At least hell will be full of interesting people.

All that to say try to do as much as you can under the timed functions. If you take dps to the street don't waste time sorting it into ank/nsn piles and stuff while delivering. Toss it in a tub and go through it when back at the office. Take packages to the doors when possible. If you have 1 package to the door and 2 for the box you now have 3 to the door. If the neighbor has a package and it is on the way to where you need to make a dismount deliver them both even if one would fit in the mailbox. Utilize every parcel locker every day. If you have empty lockers and are delivering packages to mailboxes you are doing it wrong. Make sure your traffic control points are correct on the mapping when you do your line of travel. I don't know of any other "honest" things you could do. I take a dump at the end of the day. I gotta poop either way. Might as well get paid for it? It is where i am typing this up!

Yes, I do every RRECS bit there is to do. I'm not new, just newly reg (January). So are you saying this decrease in evaluation is tied to RRECS? I'm trying to figure out what came in to play here to lower the evaluation. I didn't realize it was going to change until the next MMS results were in. 🤔

Routes can be reduced or increased now every time you lose or gain boxes or mileage. It's all related to the edit book and mapping.

Hard to say really other than you did your mapping and the route went down. What took place during your hurried mapping session? What changes were made if any? If you were only a minute over 43j and lost two minutes due to a box grouping or something having to do with traffic control points. If you were just barely a 43j any change could have been enough. Did you mark a bunch of boxes inactive? Did the scanner shave off a half mile of distance or anything like that? It is definitely tied to rrecs. My understanding is that it will also go up the same way it goes down. Rrecs is so complicated that it is hard to tell sometimes. If you're just a minute or two off that is easy to fix by just being more thorough during timed functions for a minute or two a day. Harder to just find new boxes and such. There aren't many ways to add time afaik

I was not aware of this-can they actually move up or down to the next level?
Right. This seems wild. Your salary fluctuating significantly every month? I am in the midst of a huge need to budget and the loss, though seemingly small, completely changes this budget. :( And I worry when I imagine subsequent monthly losses and/or possibly going to an H route status.
